- Day 1
Seattle to Kamloops
Leave Seattle early for the 7-hour drive north into British Columbia. Pack plenty of snacks and good music for the road. Stop at Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park for a quick 15-minute walk to see the 197-foot falls. You'll reach Kamloops by late afternoon. Keep watching for wildlife in the Thompson River Valley. You might spot elk or bears along the way.

Yoho National Park to Banff
Start your Rockies adventure at Yoho National Park. Get to Emerald Lake before 10 AM to avoid tour buses. You can walk the full lake circuit in 90 minutes or take a shorter stroll along the northwestern shore for beautiful reflections. After crossing the Continental Divide at Kicking Horse Pass you'll arrive in Banff. The evening is perfect for exploring the restaurants along Banff Avenue.

Lake Louise and Moraine Lake
Aim to reach Lake Louise by 7 AM to experience its peaceful waters before crowds arrive. Canoe rentals cost about $110 CAD per hour. Book ahead in summer. Jasper National Park
Spend your morning exploring Jasper. The Maligne Canyon trails and bridges need about 2 hours to explore properly. Rent bikes in town for a different perspective. The Jasper Park Lodge loop is fairly easy and offers beautiful mountain views. Later drive to Clearwater on the Yellowhead Highway. Look for Mount Robson on clear days. It's the highest peak in the Rockies.

Clearwater to Whistler
A long drive through changing landscapes brings you to Whistler. Spend the afternoon in this former Olympic village. Take the Peak 2 Peak Gondola between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. Try to time your ride for sunset in summer.

Sea to Sky Highway to Vancouver/Seattle
The Sea to Sky Highway offers stunning views. Stop at places like Porteau Cove for photos. In Vancouver walk or bike Stanley Park's seawall (2 hours walking 1 hour biking). Important advice from travelers: "If ending in Seattle prepare for a long final day. It's about 3 hours from Vancouver to Seattle plus border crossing time can be unpredictable."

Icefields Parkway to Jasper
Plan a full day for this 145-mile scenic drive. Start early to see sunrise at Bow Lake. Stop at Peyto Lake for a quick 15-minute walk to the viewpoint and visit the Columbia Icefield.
