10 Days in Middle East, incl. Jerusalem and Cairo
The spiritual essence of Israel and Jordan comes alive from Jerusalem's religious sites to Petra's Treasury. The Dead Sea, Masada fortress, and Wadi Rum camping create diverse experiences.

10 Day Israel & Jordan Itinerary, incl. Jerusalem and Petra
A 10-day cultural immersion from Tel Aviv to Petra reveals the region's top sites. Jerusalem's Old City, Dead Sea floating, Masada fortress, and Petra's Treasury create lasting memories.

- Days 1-3
Northern Israel
Your journey starts from Tel Aviv as you head north to the Galilee region. The local guides know their stuff. One traveler put it well: "The guides were extremely knowledgeable about both historical and religious contexts, which really brought the sites to life." Plan for early starts at 7:15 AM to stay ahead of the crowds at places like Nazareth's Church of Annunciation and the Roman ruins at Caesarea. Drive along the coast through Haifa to see the beautiful Baha'i Gardens.

- Days 4-6
Jerusalem & Bethlehem
You'll want three full days in Jerusalem. Get to the Old City by 8 AM before the tour groups show up. The Via Dolorosa gets packed by mid-morning. For the Western Wall visits, you need to dress modestly with shoulders and knees covered. Remember your passport for day trips to Bethlehem and Jericho since you'll cross checkpoints.

- Day 7
Dead Sea & Masada
Take the first cable car up to Masada to avoid the hot desert sun. The Dead Sea mud baths are unlike anything else, but skip shaving that day or the salt water will sting. Bring water shoes for the sharp salt crystals on the beach. A helpful tip from a visitor: "Bring an old swimsuit - the minerals can discolor fabric."

- Days 8-9
Petra, Jordan
- Day 10
Return to Tel Aviv
10 Days in Jordan and Egypt, incl. Petra and Cairo
A 10-day trip connecting Jordan and Israel's highlights takes you to Jerash's Roman ruins, the Dead Sea, Petra, and includes camping in Wadi Rum before unwinding on Eilat's beaches. Comfortable hotels and traditional dining complete the experience.

- Days 1-2
Amman & Northern Jordan
Start in Amman and explore Jordan's capital. On your first morning head north to Ajlun Fortress, a well-preserved 12th-century Muslim castle. Visit Jerash before 9 AM to see some of the best Roman ruins outside Italy without the crowds and heat. The colonnaded streets and Hadrian's Arch are spectacular. Bring sturdy shoes since the ancient stones can be slippery.

- Days 3-4
Desert Castles & Dead Sea
Visit Jordan's desert castles like Qasr Kharana and Qusayr Amra, known for its 8th-century frescoes. Stop in Madaba to see the famous mosaic map at St. George's Church. Plan your Dead Sea float for late afternoon when it's cooler. Bring water shoes since the salt crystals at the bottom can hurt your feet.

- Days 5-6
Petra & Wadi Rum
Get to Petra early. The 1.2km walk through the Siq canyon looks beautiful in morning light. A recent visitor said: "Start at the Treasury before 7 AM - the pink stone absolutely glows and you'll have the place almost to yourself." Next day, take a 4x4 tour of Wadi Rum and sleep in a Bedouin camp. Pack warm clothes since nights in the desert get cold.

- Days 7-8
Border Crossing & Sinai
- Days 9-10
Cairo
Spend a full day seeing Cairo's main sites: the Pyramids of Giza, Egyptian Museum and Islamic Cairo. Get to the pyramids when they open at 8 AM to beat the crowds. Visit the peaceful Coptic quarter and Hanging Church for a break from the city noise. Go to Khan el-Khalili bazaar in early evening when locals shop and gather.

What people love about 10-day Israel and Jordan tours
- Israel, Jordan and Egypt 10 days
Overall, it was an amazing trip for our group of 4 to see all the historical landmarks that we'd only read about in books or seen on TV. Once we arrived at our desintations, the tours were informative and well organized. However, the logistics when transferring across borders into another country to get to our next destination need to be greatly improved. We had problems during both of the border transfers. First, between Israel and Jordan, the Jordanian representative named Ramses was not there to meet us. He finally showed up about 30 minutes late. We prepaid Booking Tours for our Visas, so we would not have to worry about getting them ourselves; however, Ramses did not have any information about us and did not have any information about our Visas. This delayed us even longer, because he had to take time to straighten everything out with his company. When he finally got everything straightened out and we got to the tour bus, some of the other customers on the bus awaiting the tour were yelling at us because we were late and were holding up the tour. I spoke with another tour attendee on the bus and she said that they were told that our group was late, and that's why the tour was delayed. In other words, the company blamed us for being late, when we were actually right on time as scheduled. Someone from the tour company dropped the ball when processing our information for the Visas, which Ramses had to straighten out. That's why we were late. I thought it was very unprofessional for them to blame us for the delay when it was really the company's error. This was very stressful at the border crossing, and also while traveling on the bus with people that held hard feelings towards us for something that was not our fault. During the second border crossing between Israel and Egypt, again there was no representative to meet us in Egypt. We tried to explain to the officials there that we were waiting for our tour representative Stenoude who would have our Visas, but still they tried to get us to pay for the Visas AGAIN. When Stenoude finally showed up about 40 minutes late, he said that he was waiting for us outside and taking care of another tour group. It doesn't make sense that he was waiting outside for us, since we couldn't exit without our Visas! This was another very stressful incident. As I mentioned, once we arrived at our destinations, everything moved a lot more smoothly. Tours in Israel were wonderful. The schedules were very punctual and the tour guides were so kind, patient and knowledgeable. If you are lucky enough to get Aviva, Liat, or MIchael, you will not be disappointed! They were outstanding tour guides! In Egypt, our driver Abbas and our tour guide Nassir were the absolute BEST! The streets of Cairo are pure chaos, but Abbas got us everywhere we needed to go and picked us up right on time everytime! Nassir had so much knowledge to share! He was kind, funny, patient and shares so much information. He took pictures for us and even suggested fun shots! He taylored our schedules to spend time doing the things we wanted to do. I highly recommend him to anyone visiting Cairo! For anyone that may be thinking of taking this trip, be aware there may be some issues during the border crossings. It may be a little scary, and people will try to pressure you into giving them money, but be firm and let them know that you are waiting for a tour representative (try to have his name) and that he has your Visa. Once you get to your destinations, you will have an amazing time.
- Israel 10 days with Petra
Wonderful way to see the Holy Land and Jordan!! I give this a 10! Yossi, our tour guide was wonderful. Knowledgeable, helpful. Everything was preplanned for us. Yossi was meticulous about giving directions. We were blessed we had a fairly small group, 28, and they were all punctual. This is our second time in Israel, this beats the other one. We took this tour because of the trip adviser reviews and the combination of Petra Jordan in this package, it did not disappoint us. Highly recommend it.
