2-Week Chile Tour Packages
Ever seen a country that stretches through multiple climate zones in one impossibly long strip? Chile's geography is almost absurd—4,300 kilometers long and narrow. Two weeks might include Atacama Desert up north, Santiago, Lake District, and Patagonia. Torres del Paine features those iconic granite towers, and Easter Island if you fly out there. Valparaíso's colorful hillside houses merit a day too.

- Days 1-3
Santiago & Wine Country
Arrive in Santiago in the afternoon to avoid rush hour traffic. Visit Cerro San Cristóbal for city views and explore Plaza de Armas. On Day 2, take a 1.5-hour trip to Maipo Valley and visit Cousiño Macul in the morning when it's cooler. Day 3, drive the coastal route to Valparaiso (90 minutes). Get there early to see the street art before the crowds arrive.

- Days 4-6
Atacama Desert
Take a 2.5-hour flight to Calama and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama. Visit Valle de la Luna at sunset to see the best colors. For the Tatio Geysers, pack layers. Temperatures start near freezing at dawn but get hot by mid-morning. Visit Laguna Chaxa for flamingo watching. A telephoto lens will help you get great shots.

- Days 7-8
Lake District
- Days 9-12
Patagonia
Take a 2-hour 10-minute flight to Punta Arenas to visit the Magdalena Island penguin colony. Check the weather before booking boat tours. The drive to Torres del Paine takes 5 hours. Take your time and stop for photos along the way. Stay at the Ecocamp for convenient hiking access. Bring good rain gear no matter when you visit. The weather in Patagonia changes quickly.

- Days 13-14
Santiago
14 Days in Chile, incl. Santiago and Patagonia
A comprehensive 14-day Chilean tour visits 7 destinations from Santiago to Punta Arenas. Includes 13 nights accommodation, 20 meals, featuring Petrohué waterfalls, Chiloé's palafitos, and 4 full days in Torres del Paine National Park with various activities.

- Days 1-2
Santiago
Begin your trip in Chile's capital and take some time to adjust to the altitude of 1,706 feet. Start with a morning city tour to Plaza de Armas at 9 AM before it gets busy. Book your stay in the Lastarria neighborhood to walk easily to main attractions. Try the Pisco Sour tasting after lunch since morning tastings can be too much if you're dealing with jet lag.

- Days 3-5
Lake District
Take a 2-hour flight to Puerto Varas. Book morning flights to avoid the common afternoon storms. Visit the Angelmó fish market in Puerto Montt between 7-9 AM when fresh catches arrive. At Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, make sure to wear good hiking shoes as the paths near Petrohué Falls are often wet and slippery. Take the Todos Los Santos Lake cruise in the morning for the best volcano views before clouds move in.

- Days 6-7
Chiloé Island
The ferry from Pargua to Chiloé takes 30 minutes and runs every 15 minutes. Bring motion sickness medication as the water can get rough. Visit Castro's palafitos when the tide is high for the best photos. Try the traditional Chilean feast called curanto at Mercado Yumbel, where they cook it underground the traditional way.

- Days 8-9
Punta Arenas
Flying south to Punta Arenas takes 2 hours. Morning flights are usually less bumpy. Bundle up for the Seno Otway penguin colony. The best time to see penguins is September through March, with December and January being peak months. As one visitor shared: "The morning penguins were much more active than afternoon visits. Pack binoculars - they get surprisingly close but good optics make a difference."

- Days 10-13
Torres del Paine
The drive from Punta Arenas takes 4 hours through remote areas. Download maps offline and pack snacks. Start the Base Torres hike by 7 AM to avoid strong afternoon winds. The weather changes quickly so bring layers and rain gear regardless of the forecast. Book mountain lodges at least 6 months ahead if visiting December through February.
