The Hebridean Way takes you on a self-guided journey through the outer islands - you'll start in Oban, then bike and ferry hop from Barra onwards past white sand beaches, the ancient Callanish Standing Stones and finally up to the Butt of Lewis. If you prefer something more gentle, the Speyside route winds through whisky country where you'll mix castle visits, distillery tours and lovely rides along the River Spey. Both routes come with detailed daily plans and good maps, but do pack for Scottish weather - it changes quickly and some sections can be a bit challenging.
