I did the 4 day mini pack Melbourne tour, and had the most incredible time. Working with Welcome to Travel soothed my initial worries about coming into Australia as a solo traveler on a working holiday visa. The team really becomes like a family and gives you a guiding hand into starting your adventure. Also, Darryl (along with the whole team) is completely fantastic, and you’ll be glad to have him as one of the first people you meet in Australia. Everyone on the team is super fun and provides a great environment for meeting like minded people. I’m beyond happy with my whole Welcome to Travel experience, and would absolutely hands down recommended it to anyone coming to Oz!

I was apprehensive about booking a tour for arriving in Australia, I'm the type that likes to do everything myself, and I had heard 'tours' in general were not worth the money or that sometimes they rip you off...
After speaking to Adam and looking on the welcome to travel website, seeing the promo video, the reviews and what they were offering I weighed up all my options and decided to book the 8 day tour.
The value for money is outstanding, accomodation and airport pickup is included which in itself would of cost me alot for the week. The hostel is great, clean and central location. Airport pick up was amazing and so much easier than trying to sort transport after a day long flight.
The whole week was packed full of activities from city tour to food & drink, seeing Australian wildlife, beaches, a night away on Phillip Island, surfing, bar crawl, BBQ & secret inclusions.
Clauds our tour guide was amazing, she is so knowledgable about Melbourne & Australian history, fun, happy & mega helpful with anything you need!
Besides the tour, welcome to travel have helped me with all the Aus backpacker worries such as admin, jobs, banking, phone, travel plans etc...
It definitely takes the stress off when they can help set up everything you need, plus help with job hunting with personal connections and live jobs, also efficiently plan and advise you on your travelling of Aus!
Overall its been an amazing week, amazing value for money, amazing inclusions and amazing help now and continued from the team for everything an Aus backpacker needs!
Anyone travelling Australia I would highly, highly recommend!!!

They went above and beyond what I expected, as I booked the tour pretty last minute but was by far the best decision I’ve ever made. I met some incredible friends that I’m now continuing my travels with up the east coast and feel comfortable as ever being a solo traveller for the first time. The 8 day tour is a must do if you’re in Melbourne - I got to go around the local markets getting to know the city, fed kangaroos, saw koalas, went on an aboriginal culture walk, watched little penguins on Phillip island, learned to surf...and so much more; the secret inclusions were such a good addition to our everyday activities as well. Our guide Claudia made sure every road trip was fun with some banging tunes in carpool karaoke and was just overall so lovely, warm and knowledgable about the city and it’s history. Another one of the many things I was impressed with was the little admin sessions and presentations we had. It didn’t matter if you were here in australia on a short tourist visa like me to travel around, or on a working visa planning on staying here for a year, welcome to travel have got it sorted! We could go to presentations on how to set up bank accounts/finding a job, or ones on the best places to travel. Adam organised the dream trip for me up the east coast including all my activities, bus passes and accommodation, sending me everything I would possibly need and making it super easy and stress free as these guys know exactly what they’re doing. They even organised for all of us on the tour to roadtrip the great ocean road in camper vans after the week, which I’ve just come back from and was SO much fun. All in all I can’t recommend these guys enough - I will never forget my first week in Melbourne, and hope to be apart of the welcome to travel family for life! They place such an importance of bringing back the travel community and I know they’re always a call away while I’m here. This tour is perfect for newbies to Australia or even if you’ve been here before and need some help in starting things off. I’m so sad it’s over!!

I had some of the best experiences of my life, and they made us feel so comfortable in what we were doing. It hugely exceeded my expectations and is very much worth every dollar. I’d 100% recommend this tour to anybody, especially those starting their working holiday visa! Had the most incredible week starting to tick off my bucket list, and experienced loads of places and activities we would never have found by ourselves. Darryl was the best tour guide we could’ve asked for and we also had an amazing group who became like a family away from home. Starting our trip here also meant that all the stress of setting up for work and onward travels was completely taken away, and just allowed us to get excited!! It’s also really reassuring to know that Darryl and Adam are just a phone call away if we need them at any point on our travels around Australia.

Daryll made us feel so welcome and was like a pal to everyone the whole time so you didn’t feel like you were on a school trip at all, it felt like you were on an adventure with your best pals! I never imagined the trip would include so many incredible places and things to do, the value for money was beyond good! I feel like we ticked so many boxes in one week and felt comfortable living in Melbourne for the weeks following because of this tour! I have made friends for life from the experience who I made so many memories with in the space of a week and I will never forget this experience and couldn’t recommend it more to anyone beginning as we did! Further to this, the after support Daryll and Adam have given to us is incredible! The other tour guides give you the time of day anyway also which is what makes this team so special! But I couldn’t thank them enough and Daryll especially for planning our travels after, which has been one of the best things I’ve ever done! And even now still supporting us with farm work and further travels! Overall a 5* experience and service I will never forget and I hope this tour goes a long way as it deserves it!!

I initially didn’t feel the need to book any kind of tour, and was happy to just show up and meet people and plan my own activities. After watching the video they have to summarize the 8 day tour, it seemed like an awesome time and a good value as well considering all that is included.
I had the opportunity to be impressed by the WTT crew a few weeks before I even landed in Oz. I had some issues with my booking through my credit card company, and the team was hugely helpful, professional, and patient in helping to work through those issues.
As the week began, it became immediately obvious that this company is something the team have poured their hearts and souls into. Great activities, awesome guides, and really well thought out planning. I was consistently impressed with the connections they have made within Melbourne and also around Oz to make both the tour and our travel afterwards so much easier and more enjoyable. Businesses and restaurants have set aside space, time, and even special pricing and menus to build and maintain a relationship with the awesome WTT team.
There are so many fun scheduled items throughout the week, but there are also countless smaller moments where you get to simply enjoy time with people who have quickly gone from strangers to close friends. There are just as many moments where it will be plainly obvious the the guides at WTT truly care for you, your enjoyment, and your success while in Oz.
I cannot think of a better way that I could have spent my first week in Oz. Still trying to get some of the Aussie slang down, but the Welcome To Travel team 100% fit what Aussies refer to as “legends.”

When I got to Melbourne I was super nervous and overwhelmed being a solo traveller, so I got in contact with Adam and booked on the tour super last minute! The guys couldn’t have helped me more squeezing me in and making me feel so welcome and at home. Meeting 17 other people from all over the world and becoming such a family by the end of the week was definitely my highlight. Although, not to mention ticking off all the bucket list expierences was an added bonus. Thankyou so much welcome to travel for everything, you guys are pros at what you do! Already want to do the week again

I'm so glad I decided to do the 8 day program because there's so much to see in the city and you can get closer connections to the other people on your trip. My Aussie bucket list is close to all checked off and I landed just 7 days ago.
This is for people who want to explore new places with new people under the guidance of people who have been in Melbourne for years and know you want to save your money for the next stop on your travels.
After some skyping with Adam about my working holiday visa journey in Australia, there was no doubt on where i was suppose to start my trip. I was super excited, but could not even dream about how ama…After some skyping with Adam about my working holiday visa journey in Australia, there was no doubt on where i was suppose to start my trip. I was super excited, but could not even dream about how amazing those 8 days was gonna be for me. The airport-pick up was the first encounter with the team, i met this supercool taxi driver who dropped me off at the hostel free of charge :D The first day of the tour was full of good vibes from everybody on the tour, and the guides made it so easy to get to know each other. The week was just packed full of surprises and amazing stuff to do. The itinerary was perfect, and gives you everything you need to know. They also fix your Australian bank account, sim-card, tax file number and more of the boring stuff you would need to set up yourself. Before i left Norway i was sceptic about the price for this, and how much value i would get out of doing it. I can assure you that those money couldn't have been better spent. I've met good friends that i went traveling with after the 8 days and i even got an amazing 4-week trip ahead of me which the boys put together for me to give me the best of Australia. You get so many possible jobs via them, especially in the regional areas where they have soo many contacts. When it comes to the money and the value of the tour, i can assure you this will be worth it. Thank you guys so much for setting me up for everything i need, i am so grateful! It's a reason they got the award for the best tour in Victoria. If you cant decide on whether or not you want to do this, let this review be your decider! Go for it!

Regarding the tour itself, everything is perfect. I didnt expect anything before arriving there. But I am so sad to leave now, I had an amazing week, rich of culture, discover, food (maybe too much actually), fun, fun & fun !
Too much gym with Darryl :p - he made us walk average 11km a day
I definitely recommend this tour! And if you want to start an Aussie life it is perfect because they help you with all process and everything for after the tour.

Ze wisten ons alle leuke en speciale local plekjes te laten zien van de CBD. Van gezellige bar's, de beste koffie tentjes en leuke eetplekken tot de street art straatjes en prachtige culturele gebouwen! Daarnaast hebben we een 2 day trip naar philip island gedaan, waar we hebben gesurft, wildlife gezien (en gegeten ;)) naar een winerie zijn geweest en nog meer! Kortom weten ze in een week vele Australia bucketlist dingen te showen, that's great!! Met hun enthousiaste inzet maakt het de week helemaal compleet! Ik heb enorm genoten en raad het iedereen aan ook de 8 day trip te doen, je komt op leuke plekken die je zou missen als je zelf de stad gaat verkennen, daarnaast bied welcome to travel een fantastische groepssfeer! This tour is the must do for first time travellers. Before I came to Australia I had no idea where to start setting up bank accounts, SIM cards and TFNs, but all of this is sorted, with nothing being too much to ask.
The trip was made be the guides Adam and Darryl, who bring their Northern whit everyday making you feel right at home (even half way across the world)
With such a passion for Melbourne the boys have created an itinery that is well planned, and jam packed, giving you the best insight to Melbourne and all it has to offer.
Because of this trip I fell in love with Melbourne and look forward to seeing Adam and Darryl when I move there in September

Darryl was at the end of a phone if there were any problems, he put us at ease when hurdles came our way but also got us excited and made sure everything he planned suited us to a T! If you want reliable and trustworthy organisers these are your guys!

-A surf class was included , so much fun.
-For me it was perfect, because I wanted to explore the city with the company of a group.

-A few dinners and lunches were included. For the price of the tour all dinners/lunches would be more appropriate

I can't say enough good things about Welcome to Travel. I had already been living in Melbourne for 3 months and decided to do the tour as a sort of "reset", and to hopefully see a new side of the city…I can't say enough good things about Welcome to Travel. I had already been living in Melbourne for 3 months and decided to do the tour as a sort of "reset", and to hopefully see a new side of the city. I was amazed at how much of the tour was totally new to me. Even the things I had seen before I learned about more in-depth and from a fresh perspective.
They have a well thought itinerary that also leaves room for flexibility. On Tuesday we rearranged our day a little so we could make Jet's secret-gig in AC/DC laneway, which was SO cool. A truly insider and unique experience, which the tour is full of.
The boys are a wealth of knowledge and will help you sort everything for your time in Melbourne and your travels afterwards. Everyone could benefit from this tour – I'm an experienced traveler who had already been living in Melbourne, and I still got so much out of it. If you were just arriving here, I can't imagine what a relief it'd be to have these friendly faces to welcome you! 10/10 for the banter as well. Thanks again for everything, lads.

Before joining this tour, I had no idea how where to start with backpacking Australia, the different requirements for finding a job, setting up a bank account, getting a sim card, or even how to ride and navigate a city by tram! It's the little minute details about moving to a new country, that I never really thought about before being faced with it. All these are things I feel like I would have struggled with for weeks, and we knocked it out in one day on the tour!
Adam and Darryl are amazing, and very genuine guys. I would totally recommend this tour for any one struggling with where to start in Australia. They really take the time to help each individual person reach their travel goals and plan out/give recommendations for specific trips. Even if you are an experienced traveler and you just want a well-rounded Melbourne experience, this is definitely the tour for you.

Even now when I have left Melbourne they still help me and keep in touch and have a lot of job recources. The tour was great! made me feel right at home from the minute i arrived, activities and tours were well organised and well timed, so much so we had extra time so went and explored some new places! so…The tour was great! made me feel right at home from the minute i arrived, activities and tours were well organised and well timed, so much so we had extra time so went and explored some new places! some tips for the next tour maybe have a map or something on the city tour to note the routes we went to would have been helpful as it began to get blurry (so many amazing places were visited!) Well organised, although think its more tailored towards travellers moving on from Melbourne, not staying and working; however help is there if you are staying and working!
All in all, great experience! lots of great memories made ! Great team!

The communication between myself and them was easy and fast. The guys were so helpful with ideas and so reassuring and extremely patient. They were prompt at answering every question and there were lots. They listened to everything we said and planned a trip for my son that suited him and his interests, and so far he is having an incredible journey and says this is the best thing he has ever done in his life. After talking with my son he had nothing but good things to say about his first week with Darryl and Adam touring and getting to know Melbourne.The trip they planned for my son is so well organized and provides nothing but the best experiences and accommodations They made me feel comfortable and all the worries I had about trusting my son’s journey to strangers quickly disappeared.
As you can see I have nothing but good things to say about The Team and would not hesitate for a moment to recommend them to anyone travelling to Australia.

Great Ocean Road and Grampians 3 DAYS
Brilliant tour, just made by our brilliant guide Darren. Fantastic scenery along Great Ocean Road, Lots of wildlife to be seen at Tower Hills and Halls Gap. And Darren was so informative and helped us…Brilliant tour, just made by our brilliant guide Darren. Fantastic scenery along Great Ocean Road, Lots of wildlife to be seen at Tower Hills and Halls Gap. And Darren was so informative and helped us spot the animals as well as sharing his fantastic photos. Also adjusted itinerary on the fly to deal with the weather, cooked us a barbeque, joked around, sorted any little issues and drove the bus. Put in 18 hour days, we are in awe.
