7 Day Morocco Itinerary, incl. Fes and Marrakech
This cultural immersion spans Morocco and Spain, covering 8 cities from Malaga. Highlights include UNESCO site Fez El Bali, Casablanca's Hassan II Mosque, and Marrakech's Djmaa El Fna square. Premium accommodations at Hilton Garden Inn Tangier come with dinners and WiFi-equipped transport.

- Day 1
Costa del Sol to Tangier
Start your Moroccan adventure with a morning ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar. The trip takes about 1.5 hours. Once in Tangier, visit the Caves of Hercules and Cape Spartel for beautiful coastal views. "Our driver was polite, patient and welcoming, not to mention an amazing driver." Remember to keep some euros with you since many Tangier vendors accept both currencies.

- Day 2
Volubilis, Meknes, and Fes
Get an early start for a packed day of sightseeing. Visit Volubilis's Roman ruins in the morning when it's cooler. Bring sturdy shoes since the ancient stones can be slippery. Next, stop at Meknes to see the impressive Bab Al Mansour gate. The total drive to Fes takes about 3 hours. You'll arrive in time to watch the sunset from a medina rooftop.

- Day 3
Exploring Fes
Spend the whole day in Fes el Bali, the world's largest car-free urban area. You'll need a local guide to help you navigate the medina's 9,000 narrow lanes. Visit the leather tanneries early before the heat brings out stronger smells. Shopping tip: Fixed-price shops often charge 3-4 times more than the souks.

- Day 4
Casablanca and Marrakech
- Day 5
Marrakech Discovery
Visit the Koutoubia Mosque early, then explore the beautiful Bahia Palace. The Djemaa el-Fna square gets busy after 4 PM with performers and food stalls. Give yourself at least 2 hours for the souks. If you're visiting in summer, plan indoor activities like palace visits between 12-3 PM when it's hottest.

- Day 6
Marrakech to Rabat
- Day 7
Rabat to Tangier and Return
Madrid and Magical Morocco end Marrakesh (7 destinations)
Your path leads from Madrid's Retiro Park to Marrakech's medina over seven days. Highlights include Granada's Alhambra Palace and crossing the Strait of Gibraltar through 7 distinct cities. Quality stays at Praga Madrid and Riad Ennakhil include daily breakfast and guided tours.

7 Day Spain & Morocco Itinerary, incl. Madrid and Marrakech
The route winds through 5 iconic cities across Morocco and Spain's cultural landmarks. Marvel at Madrid's Retiro Park, Marrakech's Yemaa el Fna Square, Granada's Alhambra Palace, Rabat's Royal Palace, and Casablanca's Hassan II Mosque with expert guides.

- Days 1-2
Madrid
Start in Madrid with two full days to adjust and explore. Get to the Paseo del Prado before 9 AM to beat the crowds. Visit Retiro Park around sunset when locals gather. The Las Ventas bullring looks best in mid-afternoon light for photos. For dinner near Plaza de Oriente, skip the main square restaurants. The side streets offer better food and prices.

- Day 3
Granada
The drive from Madrid to Granada takes about 4.5 hours through La Mancha. Book your Alhambra tickets well ahead of time. Visit in the afternoon between 2-4 PM for the best light at the Court of the Lions. The historic stones can be slippery, so wear shoes with good grip when walking through the Generalife Gardens.

- Day 4
Granada to Rabat
- Day 5
Rabat and Casablanca
- Day 6
Marrakech
Start at Menara Gardens before it gets hot. Visit Djemaa el-Fna during both day and night to see its two different sides. "The morning orange juice sellers and afternoon snake charmers give way to an amazing evening food market. The square gets pretty packed around 7 PM—grab a rooftop table at Café de France for the best views."

- Day 7
Departure from Marrakech
What people love about 7-day Morocco and Spain tours
- From Costa del Sol: 7-Day Imperial Cities of Morocco
Tour guide and city experiences were very good. The van was in poor condition, with ineffective A/C (especially under the extreme heat conditions) and bumpy ride. The driver was excellent. We were very disappointed that we were not staying in the same hotels as the other passengers, as we felt isolated from the others having the same experience. We assumed that we were to stay in 4 and 5 star hotels; the first and last night's hotel were very good, Fez and Marrakesh were, in our opinion, less than 4 star. We would have liked more shopping time in Marrakesh rather than extensive visits to sales pitches. The Berber Festival was one of the top experiences that we have had on any trip. We did this trip 43 years ago and loved the Berber Festival as it was at the time; this newer version is beyond exceptional. Overall, it was a very good trip with the exception of the van condition and the B hotels in Fez and Marrakesh.
