7 Days in Morocco, incl. Fez and Marrakech
7-day journey bridging Spain and Morocco, from Costa del Sol to Marrakech. Cross the Mediterranean at Tarifa, explore 6 Moroccan cities including UNESCO-listed Fez Medina. Features luxury coach travel, professional guides, and cultural experiences for $175 daily.

- Day 1
Costa del Sol, Spain
- Day 2
Costa del Sol to Fez
Leave early along Costa del Sol to Algeciras or Tarifa for the ferry to Tangier (about 1 hour). The crossing can be rough so consider motion sickness pills. After Moroccan customs you'll have a long but scenic drive to Fez with a quick stop in Meknes. Get your camera ready for your first look at Morocco's ancient city walls.

- Day 3
Fez
Start early to see Fez's UNESCO-listed medina before crowds and heat arrive. The old city has over 9,000 narrow alleys so stay close to your guide. You'll visit the Royal Palace's 7 gates, the Jewish Quarter and Bab Bou Jeloud (Blue Gate). Wear sturdy closed shoes since medieval streets are uneven and sometimes slippery.

- Day 4
Fez to Marrakech via Rabat and Casablanca
A full travel day with lots of sightseeing. Visit the Mohamed V Mausoleum and Hassan Tower in Rabat. In Casablanca you'll see the impressive Hassan II Mosque from outside (no time for interior visits). You'll reach Marrakech by evening. The optional dinner show at Chez Ali offers great Moroccan entertainment if you're interested.

- Day 5
Marrakech to Casablanca
Start your Marrakech tour at the serene Menara Gardens. Visit the Koutoubia Minaret and Bahia Palace before exploring the famous Jemaa el-Fna square and souks. One visitor suggests: "Be prepared for lots of walking and persistent vendors in the medina - a firm but polite 'no thank you' works best." Head back to Casablanca for the night.

- Day 6
Return Journey to Costa del Sol
- Day 7

7 Day Spain & Morocco Itinerary, incl. Madrid and Marrakech
A grand tour through Spain and Morocco takes you to Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu, Granada's Alhambra Palace, Casablanca's Hassan II Mosque, and Marrakesh's Jemaa el-Fnaa. The route connects 8 distinctive destinations across 3 countries, including crossing the Strait of Gibraltar.

- Days 1-2
Madrid
Get to Plaza Mayor before 9 AM to beat the tourist crowds. Plan to visit La Latina after 8 PM when the tapas bars fill up with locals. Head to Retiro Park mid-morning when it's peaceful and quiet. Planning to see the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium? Visit after 2 PM when most tour groups have left. Remember to pack good walking shoes. The historic center has lots of cobblestones and unexpected hills.

- Day 3
Madrid to Granada (4.5-hour drive)
You'll drive through La Mancha where you can spot Don Quixote's windmills along the way. The Alhambra sits on a sunny hillside with little shade, so bring water and sunscreen. Book your Alhambra tickets several months ahead. The Generalife Gardens are beautiful in late afternoon light and you'll find fewer people around then.

- Day 4
Granada to Rabat via Ferry
This travel day takes you from Europe to Africa. The ferry ride is about 1.5 hours. Keep your passport accessible and spend some time on deck to see Gibraltar. Stop in Asilah during lunch when it's quiet to see the blue and white medina walls. It's another 3 hours to Rabat. You'll likely arrive as the evening call to prayer echoes from Hassan Tower.

- Day 5
Rabat to Marrakech via Casablanca
Visit Rabat's Royal Palace early to see morning light on the marble courtyard. The Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca is stunning around mid-morning when sun shines through the glass floor. Plan your 3-hour drive to Marrakech to arrive before sunset. You'll see Jemaa el-Fnaa square come to life with food vendors and street performers.

- Day 6
Marrakech
- Day 7
Final Morning in Marrakech

- 7-Day Tour Morocco , Imperial Cities Express
firstly it seems that you seem to believe that we were on a 7 day tour, which we were not. The Tour I paid for was for 6 days and started in Barcelona. our real tour guide starting in Madrid was Yolanda! she was good at managing chaos of 3 different tours at times. the management of this tour was bad. why the 2 or 3 different hotels? it was a disjointed tour compared to others I have taken. Also, too much Spanish, which is of course expected with a spanish tour company! Also, the first city overnight stay for us in Madrid was horrible because after finding out in a chaos (again!) that we should stay at some other hotel (only us!) we were dropped off somewhere in Madrid by that guide & bus and told to go up somewhere and turn left, etc. and to sign in by ourself. then he left us all alone in a strange city to us, not knowing if that hotel would even have our reservations and hoping we would actually find it. this is incredibly dangerous and unacceptable!!! I could sue you for this! Then we had to listen to endless Spanish chattering by surrounding people and guide in the bus. Also, the bus did not offer use of the bus toilet! This is also UNACCEPTABLE! Especially when I got sick by some bad food! Bus seats were way too tight for the legs!! The special sights and tours in different cities were beautiful and most city tour guides were great! But that is not much due to Julia´s management, except the guides. I want to comment on the excellent tour guide Yolanda for being able to manage this chaos that is due to Julia´s company mismanagement. She always provided excellent repeated information as to where to meet and at what time. Unfortunately, the Spanish-speaking people of course were NEVER on time and made the rest of us wait sometimes up to 1+ hours! Again unacceptable! But not Yolanda´s fault! The only thing she did not do was show much caring when I was ill at the very last tour day. But that is human. However, my result from this all is that I will NEVER AGAIN go on a tour with Julia Tour.
