"The Tube is easy to navigate, even my 14-year-old granddaughter quickly caught on." Get to the Roman Baths before 9 AM to avoid crowds. Visit Stonehenge in the afternoon but bring warm clothes. The open plains get quite cold and windy.

London Exploration: Visit Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace first.
Take a quick 45-minute train ride to Windsor Castle. Book your Windsor tickets online to avoid waiting in line. Use your free day for the London Eye. Book a late afternoon ticket when lines are shorter and lighting is better for photos. "Live theatre in the West End was a highlight—don't miss it!"

London to Paris: This takes a full day with a 90-minute ferry ride from Dover and coach travel through France.

Visit Versailles early the next day. Get skip-the-line tickets and take the RER C train there. It's about 45 minutes and easier than coach parking. A 2-day Metro pass will save you money.

"The sidewalk cafes were excellent—try the ones away from main tourist areas for better prices and atmosphere." Many Paris restaurants don't have air conditioning so dress for the weather in summer.

In the afternoon, visit Covent Garden to watch street performers and browse the shops. Want to ride the London Eye? Book a 2 PM slot when lines are shorter and the lighting is good for photos. The Tube is the best way to get around London. Buy an Oyster Card when you arrive and add enough credit for your stay. The Strand Palace Hotel puts you close to most attractions.

Paris via Eurostar
The Eurostar train ride to Paris takes 2 hours. Get to St. Pancras station 45 minutes before departure. Pack light since some Paris Metro stations only have stairs. In Paris, you can take a city tour or explore Montmartre. Montmartre means more walking but offers a more local experience. "Taking the funicular up to Sacré-Cœur saved our legs, and the view of Paris was incredible. Go around sunset for the best photos." Saint-Germain-des-Prés is perfect for your free day. Browse the boutiques and relax at local cafes. If you visit Versailles, go early to avoid crowds. On your last night, take a Seine River cruise before dinner at the Eiffel Tower. Visit a bakery in the morning to watch French bakers create perfect croissants. The Crowne Plaza Republique gives you easy access to both tourist spots and local areas.

Departure
Book a flight after 11 AM to avoid morning traffic to Charles de Gaulle. The RER B train from central Paris is often more reliable than taxis during rush hour and takes about 45 minutes.

Tour guide was great, Local experts were great, but the only thing that was not so great was the hotels. A lot of people in our group were older, and the tubs were high. Difficult to get in and out of. Please consider this when choosing hotels.
