Book your Guinness Storehouse tickets ahead of time with flexible timing. You can take a quick taxi ride there from most downtown hotels. The St. Patrick's Cathedral area works well for afternoon walking tours.

      Dublin to Liverpool

      Take the 3.5-hour ferry to Wales in the morning. If you get seasick easily, bring motion sickness medication. You'll stop at Caernarfon Castle for photos of the exterior.
