The Treasures of CyprusMy tour of Cyprus with Destination Services had points of poor service and outright errors that caused me to miss an important day tour. The things that went well were the hotel selection of Harmony Bay Hotel in Limossol was excellent. The hotel is a nice medium size, quiet, and right on the Beach Path and beach. The 2 of 3 tours I was able to take were 1) donkey farm tour with cooking demonstrations, donkey ride, dinner, and local dancing. It was interesting and fun, 2) all day 4x4 tour of peninsula near Pafos Town with canyon hiking, sea turtle conservancy beach tour, delicious lunch, and boat cruise with swimming in Blue Cove. It was scenic and fun. However, Destination Services was very slow in answering my messages with questions when it was a few months out from the tour. Tour Radar had to intervene to get any responses to my questions. Then Destination Services sent my trip itinerary and the next day sent a different itinerary because the first one was for the wrong start day. However, the second itinerary ended up with 2 major errors: 1) my tour to Northern (Turkish) Cyprus had the wrong pickup location so I completely missed the tour. This was the most important tour for me and I had no time to take it on another day, I was very disappointed, 2) my return transfer to the airport was listed as 9 am pickup but it was actually 10:15 am. In both cases I had to make multiple phone calls to try to find someone at Destination Services who could figure out what went wrong. Finally a very nice man helped me, but he could only play catchup. The itinerary I received was not reviewed for errors and pickups were not double confirmed. In my opinion, Tour Radar should stop selling Destination Services tours. Their quality control is very deficient and results in clients left waiting for messages to be answered and left waiting for pickups that don’t occur.
