It is good to know that it is quite fast paced (as most tours are), but in return you get to see a lot of places in a short period of time. This was my second gadventures tour and it is a very high quality on the tours. Gadventures support the local people and run projects to help the community which I think is great!! It is good to know that I give something back to the places I visit.

Overall…Thailand Thailand on a shoe-string was just that, we saw and experienced so much for a really great price, the people were friendly, the food was epic and the fresh coconuts were just lovely. Overall a wonderful fun filled adventure. Accommodation Generally the accommodation was good, always clean and fit for purpose my only gripes would be with the check in times. For example we would often arrive to our accommodation after a rough and sometimes sleepless overnight train journey and not be able to check in until sometimes 5 hours later. In which case we didn’t have much choice but to do an activity /excursion and spend money you may not have budgeted for. This would also mean we weren’t able to freshen up before going on activities, although there was the option to have a shower by the pool however this was such a mission having to take your stuff out of the suitcase and scurry over to the pool shower. It just wasn’t sufficient. Also there wasn’t always the option to check in early unless your super cool beans CEO managed to work magic. Please note early check was charged at a small fee. Overnight trains Moving on to the overnight trains, they were definitely an experience, it was interesting to see the train seats be transformed into bunk beds, and the bunk beds were comfortable enough. Negatively the toilets were often very smelly and the lights stay on through the night which is unfortunate if you are at the top bunk. Top Tip, bring an eye mask. Other than that the overnight trains were ok, remember it is on a shoe string budget so you can’t expect too much Meals. The trip does include some meals, breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Generally this was hit and miss, the house share food however was wonderful, plenty to go around and very tasty. However not all the food was of such a high standard. House shares The house share experience was great, the people were so friendly and welcoming and generally it was a really good experience. Whilst in the house shares we were in the mountains so it got pretty cold during the night, Top Tip bring some light thermals, they will keep you warm and are light for packing. I would also recommend a blanket as the blankets provided were musty. I brought a sleeping bag, however I wouldn’t recommend this as I found it to be bulky to carry around when trekking. Also I would recommend bringing a neck pillow as you are sleeping on the floor which is generally uncomfortable so a neck pillow will add a little comfort. It will also be good when traveling in the vans etc. Once it gets dark there isn’t really much you can do so bring a packet of cards, or Uno, That’ll go down a treat. In addition to all of those I also bought an iPad, not a necessity but was great for evening entertainment. The tour guides also provided some evening activities in the form of games which was great fun . Trek/ Activites I found the trek very difficult, walking for hours on rocky ground in the blazing hot sun was not my idea of fun. However the tour guides were so kind, informative, patient and encouraging. And my tour guide Andy was the bee’s knees, I’ll never forget how wonderful he was on that trek. Pros of the trek were the exercise, really felt like I had a fully body work out, the tour guides and the view. Cons however were that that there was no allotted time to stop and look at the views and the view really was stunning. Tips, stay hydrated, stay motivated, carry a sun hat, carry bug repellent spray, sun protection and wear sturdy shoes. Finally the CEO My CEO Andy was and is amazing. He holds all the qualities needed to do the job of a CEO effectively leading a team of dynamic and hugely varying personalities with ease. Andy was patient, enthusiastic, sociable, friendly, fun, un-judgemental and professional. Throughout the trip Andy was a complete star he made the trip so enjoyable, he kept the team laughing, kept everyone in good spirits and was always willing to assist. Come the end of the trip it was difficult to say good bye, it sounds cliché to say but Andy came into my life as CEO but left as a friend. I don’t know that I would have made it up that mountain without him, truly a gem. #Best CEO ever
