You know that guy at the party that everyone wants to hang around, no matter how old young or straight they are? Well that's this bloke. Despite having an average-at-best beard Toby is an absolute leg…You know that guy at the party that everyone wants to hang around, no matter how old young or straight they are? Well that's this bloke. Despite having an average-at-best beard Toby is an absolute legend to hang around had knowledge to rival the locals pretty much everywhere we went. The group we had was really big (around 50 people) but everything was so smooth, all I had to do was rock up and party. It was the trip of a lifetime and it wouldn't have been the same without him.

The group dinners were a bit rubbish both food wise/payment wise but that's not Toby's fault

Toby was an excellent guide, very informative and didn’t rush as other guides we experienced have.
Was the perfect mix of a guide and a mate and was very upbeat and helpful throughout.
The drivers were also fantastic (especially through the beautiful but dangerous amalfi coast)
Will definitely recommend the Italian Adventure and Toby as a guide to anyone!

Toby was an absolutely top guide! He was very professional, but very chilled out and a really good laugh! Loved his bonding game of matchy matchy! :) Toby had also clearly taken a lot of time to go above and beyond on researching interesting things to show and tell us about the local area - he's obviously a very dedicated and hard working individual. Toby gave us good local tips on food, culture and historical facts about the region and what day tours to take as optional activities.!Nothing was ever too much for Toby. Toby made himself available to the members on tour and made the whole experience fun for all ages. I feel so fortunate to have had a guide with such calmness and at the same time quirkiness. We all got to know A lot about Toby such as in Portugal he loves ‘Pastel de Natas’ and planned a sunset picnic in Porto- every brought a plate of food or drink. This was the highlight for all of us on this tour. Toby whilst in Spain really describes the ‘Reconquista’ era in detail. Toby is an amazing young man. I must take this opportunity to also mention his offsiders too Duffy the Irish and Tony the Portuguese Busabout drivers. They were both very polite, helpful with our luggage always cheerful and maintained the coach spotless and clean. Congratulations Toby! All the best wishes for any future endeavors you may pursue, I am sure you will be successful like you are at Busabout! :)

What an absolute amazing guide - the best I have ever had. Not only did toby continuously ensure that everyone in the group was safe at all times, he always made sure we were enjoying ourselves. My first experience with Toby was when we travelled to Madrid and our accommodation wasn’t prepared upon arrival. Instead of panicking or stressing like any other human, Toby was the most apologetic person towards the tour group and handled the situation with much easy. Toby always ensured we were enjoying ourselves, even when on the coach - or the spaceship as he calls it. Toby did not disappoint on the microphone. He was extremely informative and made super engaging so the group didn’t find it boring. Overall Toby is the most amazing person and tour guide I have ever had the privilege meeting. He definitely made my holiday a lot better than it was - which I didn’t think possible.
The tour itself was something magical on its own, especially the night in Porto where our whole tour group can together to dance and sign around the busker at sunset. I wish we spent more time in Portugal though. And some accommodation places such as Lisbon weren’t the best, especially if you have a 15kg suitcase you have to carry up 3 flights of stairs because there is no elevator. But other than that it was an amazing experience that I could have possibly had. Thank you Toby and Toni Navega for such an amazing time. Definitely a tour I will remember and recommend.

Toby was brilliant; the best guide on any tour I’ve done. He was personable, enthusiastic, very happy to give suggestions or advice, but above all, never tried to push optional extras on you as “It’s …Toby was brilliant; the best guide on any tour I’ve done. He was personable, enthusiastic, very happy to give suggestions or advice, but above all, never tried to push optional extras on you as “It’s your choose your own adventure and everyone’s best holiday looks different”. This gained major points early on from me!! Toby managed the perfect balance between getting involved in all of our nights out, including karaoke and being a really good sport when I bought him a novelty drink at Espit Chupitos on our last night of tour, while still getting enough sleep to smash it the next day and be nice and cheery in the morning. Toby was very knowledgeable about locations we were visiting and still gets excited about the history. I can imagine doing Busabout trips one after the other for months on end would get so exhausting, but Toby doesn’t show it, ensuring he takes an interest in each person on the trip. Our bus driver Tony was fantastic too and the two of them were a great team. I spoke to our travel agent/close friend at home in Melbourne a couple of days ago and said we would 100% recommend this tour to any of our friends. Thank you Busabout team for an awesome time!

From his awesome reccomendations to his poetry to his “goooood morrrninnnnns” when we all slumped on to the bus after a massive night out. The itinerary was great cause it gives you a good amount of time in each city and the cities that we didn’t get as much time in, Toby reccomened what was best to do and what we could probably skip. The accomodation is hostels and you can’t expect too much. Some of the hostels however were below average but luckily there was never more than 2 nights there and you’re not really there for the room. Same goes for some of the not so nice hostels, had not so great “breakfasts”. The bus driver Michael was awesome and every now and again would come out with something funny! I had a much better time than I expected and made so many friends! I would highly recommend busabout and hopefully you’re lucky enough to have Toby and Michael to guide you through the amazing European countries!

He was great, so laid back, chilled and genuinely got involved with us. I most loved the fact that he was normal and approachable and wasn't doing the tour guide act/voice/schpiel that can be irritating. Don't lose that Toby, stay real. I'll definitely be doing busabout again. Thanks for some great memories.

It felt like I was taking a holiday with a good friend and this is really saying something because I don't warm to strangers easily. The welcome e-mail before the trip began and the the creation of the Facebook Group for communication and starting connections with other people on the trip were both excellent ideas. Toby put us at ease with his entertaining banter on and off the bus while also being very informative about the region of Southern Italy that we got to explore. I highly recommend that you try the Italian Adventure. You would be very lucky if you manage to catch Toby as a guide somewhere on the Busabout loop, he is a treat and lots of fun.

He also had so much energy and personality throughout the trip, with the good vibes all around making the already-stunning locations and activities that much more enjoyable. My only regret for the trip is that it wasn’t longer, would definitely love a few more days in Capri, Amalfi and Sorrento. Thanks Toby!

The accommodation was horrible, there are other options all in the same area for very comparable costs that offer a much better experience for your guest especially if they think they are getting an "…The accommodation was horrible, there are other options all in the same area for very comparable costs that offer a much better experience for your guest especially if they think they are getting an "upgrade..." the $150 per couple upgrade is incredibly misleading we ended having to pay for 2 nights in hotels up the road.
Toby on the other hand was a fantastic guide and made the trip well worth while, energetic, enthusiastic and passionate and a really nice guy who helped enough without over doing it. Asset to the company for the future

As for itinerary wise- would have liked to spend more time in amalfi - possibly a night in Positano if anything.

The accomadation was a bit rough, a hotel would have been nicer, even if 3 star. Also, the size of the group was a bit too much as it was hard to accomadate so many people for dinners and activities.

It sucked. The food at th restaurant on the first night was pretty average too. Toby was great however and I love the trip.
