If I could give River more then 5* I would - she catered to everybody, had great local knowledge and was also an amazing laugh! Kudos for her being peer pressured (or leading by example) to do the Chilli Challenge at Monkey Business - I've never drank a milkshake quicker! The only destination I wasn't a fan of was Boracay - I was partied out by the time I got there (not that it stopped me). I can see it's potential, I think it just needs a detox.
The accomodation in Siquijor and Moalboal was also lush - but the beach at Siquijor was a shame...it'd be amazing if TruTravels started running optional beach clean ups on their trips - it would really make a difference.

GREAT! River was great! She will even be better as she becomes more experienced. She has lots of knowledge about the islands. Siquijor island tour was my favourite. Amazing tour! The Philippines is a beautiful place and the itinerary was action packed and had something for everyone from chilling on beaches, adrenaline pumping canyoneering and a banging boat party…Amazing tour! The Philippines is a beautiful place and the itinerary was action packed and had something for everyone from chilling on beaches, adrenaline pumping canyoneering and a banging boat party! In fact Borocay was non stop partying once we got there!
I have done Trutravels tours before and would absolutely recommend them to anyone, as well as do them again myself! It is perfect for anyone and everyone and a great way to meet new people. I find it great as it's a perfect way to travel around and see amazing things in beautiful places that you might not otherwise find on your own, plus it takes all the hassle of organising everything away :)
River was a super tour guide and had great banter! She's friendly and helpful if you have any issues travelling!
One of the best things for me personally is that you also get time to break away from the group and do your own thing if you want to which was the perfect opportunity to go diving!

Good tour with some great activities. Not moving around too much so you could enjoy the places. The waterfalls were amazing and I swam with a turtle and found some cool sea life in moalboal. Personally I really like the fact the tour guide meets you at the airport so you feel safe upon landing in a new place. River (our guide) was positive, cheerful and confident and did her job well. Included meals? the one included meal wasn’t anything special but the food was so cheap that it didn’t matter. Transport day killed my vibe a bit and I think it could’ve been done quicker i would have paid more to half the travel time. Beautiful islands and the people are so welcoming and friendly. Siquijor was lovely but it was a shame the pollution was bad in the sea. Boracay Is good if your drunk

Was reluctant to go on a tour initially having travelled without a guide in the past but was invited along and did not regret it.

Was reluctant to go on a tour initially having travelled without a guide in the past but was invited along and did not regret it.
Tru Travels take all the hard parts out of travelling and just add in awesome activities instead, things that you may not do or even know about if you were solo.
Absolute highlight was Siquijour island, the most beautiful place, closely seconded by canyoning in Moalboal!
River, can only be described as a breath of fresh air. Just loved her.
Only criticism would be that I would have preferred to visit Boracay (the hostel venue) first and partied everything out my system and then wound down to chilled islands and beaches!
And would also loved to have seen the hotels/hostels as part of the itinerary before.
This is a fantastic and you'd be mad to miss it!

It takes all the stressful things out of travelling and adds in extra great stuff instead that you may not normally do or hear about in other circumstances.
River, was fantastic, a breath of fresh air. And the Philippines itself is such a beautiful and welcoming country.
My only criticism would be, I would have preferred to travel to Boracay (or done the 'hostel' side first, and then wound down to pretty beaches and hotels later.
And would be great if tru travels could have put the hotels or types of places you would be staying on the itinerary.
Thanks so much River and tru travels! You will be seeing me again

The Siquijor island tour was the BEST! It was great to do loads of different activites. The faith healer, Annie was my favourite. I'm not calling her a witch but she worked some magic on my sunburns. It was also cool how much River got involved and puled the group together.

The amazing guides (Brayden, Dan, Pat and River) get you from point to point seamlessly. They are truly knowledgeable about the area.

Chilled out guy but got stuff done with no drama or stress, just want you need a tour guide who is one of you, got stuck in with everything and had such a laugh.

I must say, it was an incredible experience. The tour guides; Patrick, Dan, Brayden and River were all awesome people, and very knowledgeable. The tour went to some unreal spots, that I never would have been able to find if I wasn’t on the tour. Great job TruTravels I highly recommend!

I have just finished the TruTravels Philippines tour and it was an awesome experience. When I booked the tour I was ready for an adventure and it certainly did that. Dan the tour guide provided the st…I have just finished the TruTravels Philippines tour and it was an awesome experience. When I booked the tour I was ready for an adventure and it certainly did that. Dan the tour guide provided the structure of what we were doing for each day and River, the other tour guide added the the dynamic fun atmosphere that assisted everyone in the group to have an enjoyable time. It was pleasing to see some members of the group that were initially quiet and reserved to extend themselves to activities like cliff jumping or to be the life of the party. This tour has it all, relaxation, a party atmosphere, and above all being able to be immersed to things to keep you interested. I found it to be a truly bonding experience among the others in the group especially when we did the canyoning activity. The common thread were the tour guides Daniel and River who provided the framework for the activities to be fun and enjoyable. I will be back. To all those thinking of doing this tour , just do it because the experience will be uniquely yours .

The tour itself was well organised in terms of activities and transport to and from locations.
Our accommodation was what was expected for the type of tour we had booked onto.
Mad monkey hostel is a crazy place, I could not stay there any longer than 3 nights but amazing all the same.
All round great experience I would definitely recommend it to anyone (of a certain age).
Thanks you two I’ll miss you loads :)
