  • Day 1

    Bridgetown, Barbados

    Plan to arrive at Grantley Adams International Airport by 5 PM to allow time for transfer and boarding. The port is a 30-minute taxi ride from the airport. Book your taxi from the official desk inside arrivals (about $25) instead of taking offers outside. Pack essential items in your carry-on since main luggage can be delayed in Bridgetown.

    Port St. Charles, Barbados

    Take a 2-hour morning sail along Barbados' platinum coast to Port St. Charles. The marina offers calmer waters than Bridgetown, making it perfect for your first swim. Get to the beach early since it fills up with day-trippers after 11 AM. Stop by Mullins Beach Bar for lunch and try their fresh fish.

    
  • Day 3

    Kingstown & Bequia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines

    Arrive in Kingstown early morning after overnight sailing. Visit St. George's Cathedral to see the stained glass at its best before 10 AM. Take a 1-hour afternoon sail to Bequia. Sit on the port side for great views as you approach the island. Princess Margaret Beach offers excellent swimming conditions.

    
  • Days 4-5

    Bequia to Mayreau

    Spend two relaxing days exploring these quiet islands. Take a dollar van to Industry Bay in Bequia, where you'll often find the beach empty. Bring water shoes for Mayreau's rocky beaches. A 20-minute walk up to the Catholic church rewards you with beautiful sunset views over the Tobago Cays.

    
  • Day 6

    Union Island

    Head to Chatham Bay before 11 AM for the calmest swimming waters. Visit Happy Island, a unique bar built on conch shells, for evening drinks. If you get seasick easily, stay on the Caribbean coast and avoid the choppy Atlantic side.

    
  • Day 7

    Tobago Cays

    This is the trip's highlight. Get there early to find good anchoring near the turtle sanctuary. Bring an underwater camera to capture the sea turtles you're bound to see. As one sailor said: "The water clarity in Tobago Cays is incredible. We could see straight to the sandy bottom even in 30 feet of water."

    
  • Day 8

    Return to Bridgetown

    The 5-hour trip back to Barbados means you should book flights after 11 AM to account for weather delays. If you have time to spare, try the flying fish sandwiches at the Waterfront Café near the port.
