This was my first time travelling alone and also the first time I did any volunteering, and I can say, without hesitation, th…I've just returned from the Y@H 2 Countries Tour in Thailand and Cambodia. This was my first time travelling alone and also the first time I did any volunteering, and I can say, without hesitation, that it has been one of the highlights of my life. Throughout the trip the lovely Bonita was unfailingly happy, patient, competent and a complete joy to be with. She answered the same questions over and over when we didn't listen properly to her clear instructions, she worked alongside us in the elephant grass fields, she danced with us, laughed with us, and looked after us wonderfully. Bonita, I wish you all the very best in the future and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you did to make my trip so memorable.

I had a wonderful time on this trip and would love to return to Thailand one day! We saw and did so much but the elephant sanctuary and staying with the hill tribe stood out for me particularly - I w…I had a wonderful time on this trip and would love to return to Thailand one day! We saw and did so much but the elephant sanctuary and staying with the hill tribe stood out for me particularly - I would have liked to spend longer and do more volunteering in both places but then I would have had to miss something else I guess. The downside was some of the travelling and I think it could be organised a little differently, especially when we were travelling for two long days in a row - for example, those of us adding the island break would have been happy to fly directly to Koh Samui from Bangkok (or even Chiang Mai) instead of using buses, ferries, short flights and taxis.

My visit to Thailand was everything I had hoped for and so much more. We used every form of transport imaginable and experienced everything from the hustle and bustle of night-time Bangkok to the sere…My visit to Thailand was everything I had hoped for and so much more. We used every form of transport imaginable and experienced everything from the hustle and bustle of night-time Bangkok to the serenity of beautiful mountain top temples and gardens. Led by our gorgeous guide Bonita, we saw amazing markets, lived with the locals in a remote hillside village and bathed in the river with elephants in a jungle sanctuary. We were quite a needy bunch of individuals but Bonita took amazing care of us all, helped us to bond as a group and nothing was too much trouble. I have ten new friends for life. Truly an amazing and unforgettable trip.

The trip exceeded my expectations. Our use of multiple public transportation...bicycles, long boats, tuktuks, little red trucks,etc...allowed us to experience Thailand in a very real way. Our use of multiple public transportation...bicycles, long boats, tuktuks, little red trucks,etc...allowed us to experience Thailand in a very real way. Our stay at the village was a unique opportunity to learn about the LaHu tribe. We stayed in their homes, enjoyed the food they prepared for us, learned about their culture, and interacted with their children who were eager to learn and play. Two nights st the elephant sanctuary was definitely the highlight for me. Being able to interact with these gentle giants was absolutely amazing.

I went to Thailand for 2 weeks. My guides Ohm and Bonita were a blessing. We had many kinds of transports and always got where we needed to go. Always enough information with a slight aire of mystery…I went to Thailand for 2 weeks. My guides Ohm and Bonita were a blessing. We had many kinds of transports and always got where we needed to go. Always enough information with a slight aire of mystery, since I had never been to Thailand. The accommodations were rated about 7, any issue was taken care of with a smile. Pleanty of bottled water and wifi. I just didn't want to leave. The Hill Tribe of Lahu are a wonderful people and I send many blessing their way. And the Elephants...I can't say enough. I would rate the whole experience a 9-10.

Bonita our tour rep was outstanding and made you feel totally secure and at home and nothing was any trouble she certainly made the tour fun.
The tour is one big adventure meeting beautiful local people seeing the real Thailand and of course helping out and giving back to the community.
Accommodation food was all how it should be for this experience if true thai life. I cannot wait to do my next trip and am hoping to be able to do it with Bonita again! Thank you so much Bonita and bamboo you have changed my life

The volunteer work itself was very rewarding, yet not overly strenuous. Transportation couldn't have been any better. The 10-hr bus ride from Bangkok to Chang Rai was very comfortable. I would recommend this tour very highly.

I expected that at the hill tribes and the elephant sanctuary. But good hotels are very cheap in Thailand and we stayed in places that were truly questionable. I would gladly have paid a bit more for netter accommodations.

What a trip !!! Everything was well planned and organized. From pick up in the airport, to meals, lodging, transportation. Our guide Bonita Bamboo had it all under control with 17 of us eager to go, see, do and help.

Bamboo does an amazing job showing you the beautiful countries, fitting in meaningful volunteer work that makes a difference, and giving you relaxation time in between. The entire tour was very well organized, and our guides Bonita, Paew, and Tum were AMAZING. This was my first overseas trip and I can't wait to plan my next. Thank you SO MUCH Bamboo, Bo, Paew, and Tum!! I will never forget this experience.

The guides, Bonita, Noom, and Sann, were more than helpful. They ensured that our group was well looked after, informed, safe and having the times of our lives! I would not hesitate to recommend Bamboo to anyone who is looking to travel and giveback at the same time.

Our tour guide - Bo, worked hard to keep us all happy and the project leader- Wan had us all laughing as he kept us busy building. Great to visit these two countries and feel safe and looked after. Bonita worked alongside our group cutting bamboo, building a library at Happiness House and teaching........ a young lady not afraid of hard work. She can also party hard and still have a smile on her face the next day. Bonita makes you feel like part of the Bamboo family. Thank you for making my trip to Thailand and Cambodia extra special xx
