About me:Two years ago I made a decision that changed my life in a way I never expected. I decided I wanted to go on a tour in Thailand where instantly I fell in love with travelling. It opened my eyes to a world of opportunity, freedom and risk. I am the kind of guy who likes taking risks and learning from the risks. I grew up saying "Life is only the adventure you like it to be" which is how I live my life. I want to one day look back on my life and say I lived! Now I have my dream job where I can help other people see what an amazing world we live in. I want others to be able to see what the world can do for you once you just take a risk and travel.

The guides were friendly and personal and more organized than before. The tour activities were fun but needed more things to do and more alignment to the itinerary. While the itinerary was mostly accurate via the activities, it seems there were many gaps that other tour companies I have used would fill with included activities. My biggest criticism that the itinerary displayed many details and events, such as going to the Crazy Monkey, that were not available. There was a pub crawl listed as an option yet our days were switched for activities so we could not attend. Also the listed accommodations were not accurate and changed for both cities. It mentioned staying in a hotel in Santa Teresa yet we were in a hostel. Another criticism is that when we arrived in Tamarindo no one had informed the guides that we had booked a private room for $200 extra each. This led to a mass amount of confusion and almost did not give us what we booked. In Tamarindo the hostel we ended up staying at, not Chocolate Hostel as displayed, had many other travelers staying outside in beds that were not normally there. This made the hostel chaotic and had more travelers than it could hold.
We also booked, for $80 each, transport to the airport which we were crammed into a very small van with other random travelers. One of the girls we shared it with said she only paid $50 for the ride.

I had no expectations going into this trip other than to take a vacation and meet new people. From the beginning the tour guides Jorge and Des instantly made it so fun. From the beginning the tour guides Jorge and Des instantly made it so fun. It really felt like a family and I know that I made friends that I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life. The group was amazing and Des really went out of his way to make sure we were always having fun while encouraging us to step out of our comfort zone and challenge ourselves. He was never afraid to share his story and passions for traveling and expressed that his hope was for us to reflect on our own lives to make sure we were living the best life we could and if we weren't what can we do to make sure that we do from this point forward.

The trip ended up being amazing and completely life changing. I had a great group of people on my tour, and my tour guide Odie was hilarious, so much fun, and super supportive whenever I needed anything. We did so much over the course of the week, from hiking, to surfing, seeing a volcano, climbing to the top of a cathedral, paddle boarding in a mineral lake, and of course, the Sunday Funday pool party and nightlife every night! This was my first tour ever, and we did a lot of things I wasn't sure if I'd be able to keep up with, but luckily I had a super supportive group and tour guides and I definitely got out of my comfort zone and became more spontaneous. I came home with a totally different perspective and outlook on life, and I think I'll be a lot more willing to take risks in my every day life too! I left with lifelong friends and memories, and can't wait for my next LBW tour.

He made it easy for everyone to get along as he is very sociable, very friendly and funny., actually id say hilarious. I wish i'll get to see him again somewhere. He answered all my questions without any problems and he'd even get the more independant people to join in. Thumbs up for a new friend of mine !

I am leaving the trip more full of life than I've ever been. Odie was a huge contributor to making this an incredible experience. He helped me get out of my comfort zone, easing me into doing things I would have never done in a million years on my own. He made me feel safe and like I was an important part of the group for the entirety of the trip. He always kept spirits high and kept the party going, never once stopping to complian about anything. Overall I really could not have asked for a better tour guide or experience here in Central America!

Desmond really knows how to make everyone comfortable, he his a very cheerful person that will contaminate everyone with his joy. It was definitely an eye opening week of culture, food and people as a first time traveller. Des, des, des. Awesome guide, awesome dude! Such a laugh. Really enjoyed having a tight knit group it was great to be able to interact and get to know everyone in a week instead of feeling like you hadn't spoken to anyone by the end of the tour. From underwater surfing, taking a catamaran around dolphin bay, filthy Fridays or seeing sloths it sure is a week I will never forget!

Though our first hostel was a bit run down the second was great, even though it was little out of town! The activities were also amazing in having gone zip lining, surfing etc.but our main Tour guide, Desmond, was definitely what made my trip. He was funny, knew his way around like the back of his hand, and let everyone go crazy and have fun but knew when to be serious. He knew how to really talk to you if you were feeling down and tried to make everyone feel included, even when they may have been excluding themselves. When he found out I didn't know how to swim, he made it his goal to teach me how before I left. Literally, the coolest thing ever. If I could change anything it would be the living accommodations, but everything else was an experience I will never forget.

I was very nervous and very excited. The first night of meeting everyone I was welcomed as part of a family. Our tour guides, especial Desmond, was non-stop energetic, knowledgeable, and fun! Desmond made the time to get to know each individual. A memorable moment was when all of us were discussing what has brought us to travel, what changes we will make in our lives when we get back home, and what we want most out of life. Desmond led this self-reflection discussion after a long day of zip-lining, rock repelling, horseback riding, white water rafting, cleansing mud painting, and detoxing hot tub. My experience with LBW was incredible and I plan on traveling with LBW in the future.

Throughout the tour Des was so helpful in every aspect. after the tour was over I decided to make my way to Costa Rica to meet up with the rest of the LBW gang. Even though I was no longer on tour, Des helped me arrange all my transportation and made sure I was comfortable crossing the border on my own. So much love for Des! He knew the answers to all of our questions and if he wasn't sure then he would find out. He was always the life of the party and made sure everyone was having a great time.

I was a little uneasy being in a new country alone but Des made me feel safe and I instantly trusted him. His patience with 23-ish women (sometimes drunk, usually late) was admirable. He made the trip so fun and memorable with his rules and games and sayings. There was no shortage of laughter and entertainment from the time we all met at the airport to the last evening of the trip. Even though we were a large group, Des had a way of making everyone feel welcome and appreciated for the person they were. He has set the bar high for future tours with LBW :)

But it didn't matter, having tour guides that kicked ass made more of an impact on our experience than any island stop, or accommodations could have. We could have circled a Walmart parking lot for days with those guys and they kept it entertaining, lively, fun and active. I couldn't be more appreciative of our fantastic tour guides. They made the trip the best week ever.

He was so organised, always had so much energy and banter - he managed to put on a scene and trick me and a few of my friends that he was afraid of the ocean and we were literally crying with laughter!
Des always made sure everyone was having the time of their lives from day until night. Nights were always the favourite as we were well impressed with his amazing dance moves!!
Would highly recommend Des as anyones tour guide he is a personality like no other and part of the reason why LBW will be truly unforgettable is because of him!

First week was Island life but it was the first time the company held the event. For a first time traveler they were always willing to help me out from what stuff to pack to knowing how to get to the greatest spots.
I would describe island life like a festival event on one small island surrounded by clear calm oceans and beautiful weather. There was alot of people to manage for LBW so check-in and traveling to the place felt a little chaotic but LBW made sure everyone got there safely. As for the event the company made sure that there was always something to do and to make sure the island was treated with respect including the locals that lived there. The workshops and the village Museum were amazing. Food was always served in full plates if you can handle Island lifestyle food. For a first time event not bad at all.
Second part of the trip was called the Bocas breeze. This was a smaller group lead by my guide name Des. Arriving to our destination was managed well and the hotspots were described to us as we head to our hostile. Athough when we were about to do our first tour activity I lost track of the group but Des was able to track me down and we were able to continue our day from there.
The rest of the tour Des made sure we were informed of times for group activities and made sure that everyone was enjoying themselves. I was impressed with how much local connections he had us meet and can't tell how much time I spent with them through out the rest of the trip.
I would say that for the style of how the company runs is definitely in the millennial generation. Activities and festivals by day, party theme by night but the main part is you are meeting and socializing with people. Though anybody else that signs up for there tour is always free to do whatever they want to make the trip more enjoyable and LBW makes sure you get that enjoyment.
I could always say that there can be improvements to make the trip a little better for a LBW client but I was able to have a great experience overall.

I am quite shy so this being my first trip there was extra anxiety but Des made sure to get me out of my comfort zone and comfortable with everyone. Most tour groups just focus on the party but des made sure we partied hard and also got to see culture and Costa Rica's natural beauty. He made sure that he knew what each of us wanted out of the trip and tried his best achieve that. Our one accommodation had a few issues but they were taken care of right away by our guides and from then on it was smooth sailing. I could not ask for a better experience. I would highly recommend this your company to any of my friends and family and I would also highly recommend Des as a tour guide!

I had never travelled with a tour group before and I was admittedly skeptical at first, but I found out quickly that LBW does it right. The amount of experiences we crammed into 7 short days was incredible, and can be attributed to the organization provided by Dez and LBW. Having our shuttles pre booked and our itenerary planned out in advance took all the stress out of traveling, and we did not waste any time waiting around between events. Dez was also very familiar with the area. Whatever you needed, be it laundry, a surf board, 6 pack or a tattoo, Dez knew right off the bat where you needed to go and who you needed to see. He was even sucessfull convincing bar owners to stay open late for our group on two separate occasions! In addition to all things mentioned, Dez's enthusiasm and encouragement to step outside our comfort zone really helped us get the most out of our trip, and come the end, we all agreed that although Costa Rica was beautiful it was the people that made the trip. I will definitely be booking with LBW again, and I will be keeping an eye open for Dez while I do so!

Our guides were very responsible making sure everyone was safe, but also made sure we were all having the time of our lives. I don't think anyone in our group ever felt left out. The whole tour was amazing each day was filled with fun activities, and everyone had a chance to do things they loved. Travelling on my own I would not have had the experiences we did. Our accomodations were clean and were convenientally located. I have never had so much fun in two weeks of my life. Desmond has a great personality as a tour guide, there was not a boring moment, and I always felt comfortable and safe. The experience was unforgettable for me thanks to our incredible tour guides.
