About me:When I first got the idea in my head to start travelling, Southeast Asia just made sense. At the age of 20 and having never even left Canada, I knew something needed to change. So I quit my job, packed my bags and headed out the door, I haven’t looked back since. When I reached Thailand I knew I had made the right decision. I am now completely hooked. Travel has become my life; I live for the day-to-day adventures, the feeling of unfamiliarity, and the challenge and resulting rewards of travel. I have spent much of my twenties living out of a backpack, feeling the free and nomadic lifestyle. I plan to pass on as much knowledge and experience to everyone I have the pleasure of touring with. The life lessons I have gained from traveling are something I can use in my every day life for as long as I live. Travelling teaches us how to act the way we are hard-wired to act, to interact with other human beings and just live life to the fullest. One thing I know is that to never have traveled would be to never have lived.

He made the experience amazing and grew my itch for traveling (backpacking) more and get out of my comfort zone. It was nice having everything preplanned and no stress for us. Its nice having someone know some of the language so your not completely lost. Mike always had great suggestions on food and wicked places to check out off the beaten paths that we'd never find or know to check out on our own! Not only was Mike a great tour guide but he made sure to be a great friend and keep in touch from time to time. He doesnt treat you like just a number you can tell he has a true passion for his job and the people that want to experience more to life and what him and LBW have to offer. Thanks for being so fantastic Mike! Hope to catch yea on another adventure down the road! ✌

Having decided to go on my first solo adventure as a recently turned 30 year old, I didn't know what to expect but this trip was better than I could ever have hoped for. The destinations on the tour w…Having decided to go on my first solo adventure as a recently turned 30 year old, I didn't know what to expect but this trip was better than I could ever have hoped for. The destinations on the tour were great, plenty of activities to chose from in each location. Highlights for me were Rainbow Mountain (I recommend trying to get to the Red Valley), and Cusco (I opted for a 4 day jungle adventure with Loki Travel for the time allocated for treks to Machu Picchu). The transfers that were picked by LBW during the trip were safe and clean and the hostels each had something different to offer. Mike was a fantastic guide with lots of knowledge about how to manage a group of people, lots of positive energy and good suggestions for places to go and see in our free time. Overall I had the best time and would recommend this trip to anyone looking to get to know Peru. My best advice for anyone with a bit of extra time would be to take a couple more weeks or more to continue on in south america and or/ spend more time in Cusco and see more of the surrounding area. (Of course, we had the option to relax if we didn…The Wonders of Peru tour with LBW is full of adventure, culture and action! The positives: There was never a day that we did not have something to do. (Of course, we had the option to relax if we didn't want to participate) The activities we did included cooking classes, hikes, animal spotting, ziplining and ruin exploration. There was never a dull moment. The accomidations we stayed at was good in comparison to the places I have stayed with other tour companies such as contiki. However, if you are expecting 5 star accomodations, this tour isn't for you, this is Peru after all and you are backpacking! If you want a tour that has tons of adventure and you always have something to do, then this is definitely a tour you should consider. I was definitely never bored!
The negatives: For the most part the food was good. However I would have paid more money to eat better food. The guides took us to cheaper restaurants, which appealed to a lot of the more budget friendly people however, sometimes the food was not good at these places. The places a few of us went to on our own were sometimes better as we had looked up reviews said them on trip advisor prior to eating there. The overnight bus rides did suck a bit especially if you can't sleep on buses, but again it's much more budget friendly.

If your coming on this trip make sure you pack a wide variety of clothing as you expirence Amazon heat and chilly mountain top hikes. The hostels felt safe and clean. We were offered MANY options for activities; from trekking Colca Canyon and Rainbow Mountain to having relax do your own thing days that included massages and great food! Paracus & Cusco were my two favourite location stops, but all the locations were absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone!!!

I jumped at every opportunity to take part in the activities they had available from swimming in the amazon river, to hiking the Colca Canyon, to eating a grub worm while bar crawling on the last night in Lima. The people LBW attracts are great people, and who doesn't want to put life before work?

He also knew lots of history and the language (which for someone who doesn't speak Spanish was amazing! Lol). He knew what was worth us to do for extra activities such as when we went surfing he suggested going to a separate beach that is a little more secluded which resulted in our tour having a private beach for the day. Mike always made sure that everyone was having a good time and I would definitely travel with him again if I had the chance!

LBW had amazingly guides, an action packed itinerary with lots to see and a huge range of options for those looking for some additional adventures along the trip. Every place alone the trip was memorable in its own way and LBW made sure we soaked up as much of the culture and had a good time doing it along the way. The only complaint is that the over night bus trips were a little rough but it's a trade off for not paying loads of money flying everywhere.
