About me:Last year as I was living the life of a traveller I stumbled across the most beautiful place in the world, Cambodia. Wanting nothing more than to go back, I was lucky enough to be offered a job with the incredible Bamboo! After 3 weeks back at home my bags were packed, I was off to start my new life and I haven't looked back since. Now my days consist of touring amazing countries, meeting incredible people and learning about different cultures, all this while teaching people the history of the countries they visit, showing them the best bars in town, where to find the most tasty Khmer Curry, the place to go for the best massage and how to party on the beach til sunrise and that's not the best parts! I am still able to give back to the local community on a regular basis, whether it be building houses for the poor, teaching in local schools or installing water filters in the villages. We work hard but play harder and I wouldn't change it for the world!!

Our tour guide Kayla really went out of her way to make sure that we all got stuck in and had a fantastic time, she really made this the trip of a lifetime! Never wanted to leave and will definitely be coming back!

Our schedule for the entire trip was kept busy throughout and looking back its amazing to see the amount that we accomplished in a relatively short space of time. The balance of volunteering work and exploring meant you didn't miss out on experiencing Cambodia's authenticity whilst also seeing a world that's far different to the one that I'm used to in the UK. Our tour guides, Kayla and Dimong were great fun and made the trip all the more worth while. As someone who's never travelled to South East Asia by themselves before they made it very easy to settle in and ensure that everyone got everything they wanted to out of the trip. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to book the same tour!

She's super chill when everyone's tired, and always up for it when everyone's in the mood for going out. Being with bamboo has given me all the confidence i needed to now go and travel the world on my own! that is all down to the loveliest staff who felt more like friends than they did tour guides and ma…Being with bamboo has given me all the confidence i needed to now go and travel the world on my own! that is all down to the loveliest staff who felt more like friends than they did tour guides and made sure we were getting the most out of our time in Cambodia and also catering to our own needs at the same time. Although the weather wasn't the greatest they made sure we still made the most of our time and always made good recommendations of where to go and what to do when we had free time! I feel like i got to know Cambodia and its locals more by doing this trip rather than being on my own which is just what you need when travelling the world! The volunteering aspect of this trip is something i won't forget and i will recommend to anyone to do! It was one of the most fulfilling experiences and made enjoyable by everyone involved! i can't thank Kayla and Dimong enough for these last 3 weeks in this beautiful country, i'm coming away with a new outlook on life.

I went on the Camb…As this was the first time i had ever been on a bamboo tour i didn't know what to expect from the experience, but as soon as i landed i knew i had choose the right company and tour. I went on the Cambodia Experience and loved every single moment of it. Not only did we get to experience some of the most beautiful sight Cambodia has to offer but really get involved with the culture and community work when doing our volunteer work. This tour gave me a chance to really experience Cambodia (Pub Street you wont forget it) and honestly i have never fallen in love with a country like this before (nearly took a bar job). I was lucky enough to have two amazing tour guides that went above and beyond in making sure everyone got the most out of there trip Michael and Dimong were amazing and really give me a trip to remember. I hope this helps anyone thinking of using bamboo i will again

It's a little pricy on a backpackers budget, but in the end you're not gonna remember the money you spent, but the experiences you're left with. And I am left a better human, gained knowledge, developed stronger morals and possible found a lifetime passion for humanitarian work.
Bamboo delivered everything from an amazing tour guide to awesome accommodation to unique opportunities/experiences.

I've learnt so much about Cambodia and its people, from its devastating history to discovering beautiful islands of which I wouldn't of known had even existed! The combination of our guides was fantastic, they complimented each other so well and although they were our guides they definitely felt like friends we were travelling with. Building a house for a poor family is something I'll never forget and has been the most invaluable volunteering experience. Thank you Bamboo! X

We saw many sights such as angor wat, bike rides to more temples, floating villages etc etc. The weather was nice and hot/ sunny which is a plus. The cambodian culture is amazing, all the people are friendly and nice.
The killing fields and learning about the genocide was severely upsetting however there is so much to be learnt about cambodia and i feel privileged to have that experience.
We then spent the end of the tour with the brilliant dimong. Where we volunteered and built a full house in a poor village using bamboo sticks and palm leaves which was such a rewarding experience. Then we headed off to the beach to relax and party for the final week. Dimong is cambodian so could share alot of culture with us which we may not have learnt. But he is also great fun and knows the best party spots and can throw out the dance moves.
Overall an amazing trip yet again. Brilliant weather in cambodia and i cant wait to go back and visit!!

5 strangers; from the US, UK, Cambodia, Nepal and Australia. We achieved our goal of painting three classrooms and the staff room in the village, on our own, in 4 days! We became a little family very quickly with so much laughter and wonderful memories made, what a wonderful adventure!
If you want to be immersed in a culture as opposed to being a tourist and carry out a 'holiday with purpose', then I highly recommend these tours.
It is a mix between hotel accommodation and living in the village- which has been termed 'camping style' with a roof! The host family were sensational, loving, supportive and ensured that all activities of living at the village met a westerners needs; for e.g. Boiled water, adequate food, warmth to sleep, support with washing etc.
Kayla and Balu were fantastic tour guides; supportive, informative, safe, communicated well, professional and fun to be around! I would definitely, if given the opportunity, plan a second tour with hopes they would be present again!
I am a vegetarian and this was not an issue anywhere I ate on the tour. I in general felt safe, comfortable and happy on my tour- I have made friends for life! We shared so much together and have created wonderful memories. To be so accepted and welcomed by the community within the village To assist them with some volunteer work was truely a rewarding experience and the children were just so gorgeous and funny; I will never forget this experience!

Kayla was great at getting people excited for the upcoming day ahead and equally always excited for a night partying. I have just finished the Vietnam tour with Bamboo Jan 2017 and can honestly say it is one of the best decisions I have made during my travels so far. Having previously travelled countries on my own wi…I have just finished the Vietnam tour with Bamboo Jan 2017 and can honestly say it is one of the best decisions I have made during my travels so far. Having previously travelled countries on my own within Asia I was a bit apprehensive about joining an organised tour where travel plans and activities were pre arranged. However, it turned out to be the best 3 weeks I've had and a big part of this was down to the tour guides; Kayla and Dee (and of course the places we visited along the way).
Kayla was a great guide who really made me feel at ease throughout the trip. As well as doing (what I'd imagine to be) the standard tour guide duties e.g. Keeping us informed of the schedule, making sure we were in the right place at the right time, ensuring transport and accommodation were up to scratch etc. She also went the extra mile to ensure that we had the best experience possible. On free days, Kayla was never short of a suggestion of things to do (very helpful as I hadn't done much research beforehand), and would be more than happy to come along with us which added to the friendly atmosphere in the group and helped us to connect very quickly.
Dee, the local tour guide, was also a great help. With many of the Vietnamese unable to speak English, the tour could've been difficult without him (for even the simplest things, such as ordering dinner). However, with Dee on hand for any queries, or translator tasks.. the 3 weeks were stress free (minus a few late buses). He also shared his knowledge on Vietnam and local traditions which gave us a good insight to the culture side of things (some information I definitely would not have know had I travelled alone).
Finally, Camila (social media girl). Whilst it isn't standard for tours to have a "social media" staff on tour.. it was a really nice touch and meant that we could capture every moment (well, more moments with us in front of the camera).She was always happy to take a picture and provide suggestions for photo ideas (even helped to get my Instagram likes and followers up-always a bonus). Pictures aside, she was a great addition, really fitted in within the group and having previously visited Vietnam herself.. was able to make great suggestions for free days (especially when it came down to food and shopping).
Overall, had an unforgettable experience and would not hesitate booking another tour through Bamboo.

The itinerary is the perfect mix of seeing attractions/the culture alongside free time. The highlights for me were the walking tour around Hanoi, seeing the pagoda of the celestial lady, halong bay (even in the rain is breathtaking), relaxing beach/chill vibes at mu nie and the bike ride through the paddy fields. The war museum in ho chi minh was really informative and interesting, however we went the day after the chu chi tunnels, i would suggest going beforehand so you can appreciate/ have more perspective at the tunnels.
I want to highlight the volunteering too.. in comparison to teaching last year on the thailand experience; we built an extention on a local families house consisting of a chicken pen. The group were amazing and all worked hard. The family were so appreciative and friendly. Its an amazing way to give back to the community and happy tears were shed all around.
The tour is a great experience and brilliant to get out your comfort zone and embrace the amazing memories to be made!
The tour guide Micheala is very friendly, happy, organised, willing to help at any point and also makes herself part of the team which is amazing!
The vietnamese tour guide "D" was also very accommodating and would go out of his way to find out information or assist with any issues with his ability to speak both languages. I even lost my phone on monkey island and he ran back 20 minutes in the rain to retrieve it for me!
Camilla, head of social media was also there to capture footage of the trip and to make us look fabulous! Can't wait to see the highlights.
Overall would definitely recommend this trip.

The highlight for me was our voluneering project helping a local family suffering for mental illness to earn a living and become more independant by helping to build them a chicken pen. Seeing their emotions of gratitude at the end of the project made it feel all the more worthwhile. Our tour guides Kayla and D were fantastic and made the trip with all the transfers and accomadation feel effortless. They were really helpful with all their local knowledge and energetic making the experience really fun and exciting. The accomadations we stayed at were really well located and clean, if there were any problems our guides would sort it out. And Kayla made sure there were good vegetarian options available for food for me which was great. Overall great trip!
