Two weeks ago I went to the surfcamp in Bendalong with AST for the first time and I would definitely say it was one of the best weekends I have ever had. Especially because we dont have a sea or beach…Two weeks ago I went to the surfcamp in Bendalong with AST for the first time and I would definitely say it was one of the best weekends I have ever had. Especially because we dont have a sea or beaches in Switzerland. Although I did not have a clue how to surf I learned the basics on this weekend. The atmosphere at the surfcamp was amazing and the people I met from all over the world were so open! The coaches did a great job and of course I would recommend AST to everyone! I hope I will return to Bendalong as soon as possible.

I booked a weekend with AST for a few surfing lessons (4 in total) in an amazing camping surrounded by beautiful wildlife and beaches all around. Everything was included in the price: transport, equipment, lessons, food, accommodation and of course amazing teachers.
At the second lesson, I was already able to stand up on my surfboard which was unbelievable in my opinion!
Tom and his team taught me how to surf so well that I litteraly fell in love and today I'm still surfing every single day, getting better, and enjoying always so much!
There is of course a price for all of this. But trust me, it's well worth it!
Thanks again to Tom and all the team, for sharing your knowledge and living the dream with you, I had an amazing time, unforgettable!

Not only did Tom teach me everything about surfing and about the ocean, he tought us, a bunch of a bit retarded swiss people, all about the surrounded nature of the campsite. During the weekend everything was organized very well, the food had been ready before you were hungry, the people were so friendly and funny, I saw plenty of different animals and I really learnt a lot about surfing! Tom told us a lot of interesting (surfing-)facts and he is very patient with everybody :-). Thank you!

I had an amazing weekend down there and it was such a great experience. Not only that we could surf a lot, we also had the chance to join a campfire (made by Tom ;D), to feed Stingrays and to eat simple but delicious food.
For me it is always a pleasure to look at the photos, especially the video which Tom created for us through the whole weekend, and this is such a great souvenir!!
The place where we stayed was amazing. We could hear the waves and see cute kangoroos when we woke up in the morning.
I could definitely feel and live the surfer-lifestyle and for this i hope i can come back to australia again and enjoy more tours like with Tom. :-)

I was in Sydney studying english and I love to surf, I surf all the weekends here in my country and in Australia I was pretty stoked to surf in differents waves than here, so I started to surf in Bond…I was in Sydney studying english and I love to surf, I surf all the weekends here in my country and in Australia I was pretty stoked to surf in differents waves than here, so I started to surf in Bondi and others beaches of Sydney. And one day at school Tom arrived offering for the students the surf camp, in Bendalong, I stayed a lot of anxious to go with then, so we went on friday and return on sunday afternoon, that was amazing, one of the best experiences of my life, surfing on differents waves and improving my surf skills, the staff are very atencious with all the campers and help you a lot, I aprecciate all the moments and thank you AST !!

The fun starts with Tom and his crew picking you up in the City, driving all the way down to Bendalong singing and having funny conversations. He doesn't get tired answering hundreds of questions about surfing of all the people in our group.
Right after arrival at the Campsite we were served dinner, all our tents were all up and ready with camping beds and sleeping bags, pillows and blankets, amazing service! After that the crew informed us about the schedule for the following days, all perfectly organized! Tom is an amazing surf coach, he makes you learn a lot all about surfing in a super fun and interesting way so you will remember the things said and learn how to surf super fast! I'd recommend everyone to join the Surf Camp with AST, not only for people who haven't surfed before, because they also split groups into beginners groups and groups with the ones who have surfed before so Tom can teach them a bit "advanced" stuff.
all in all 100% perfectly organized tour with a lot of fun, good food, amazing staff!!

I loved the weekend! I had such an amazing experience and such a great time. The place is so awesome! I loved especially learning to surf with the instructors! I hope to come back one day and surf with the guys again. Oh yeah and keep an eye open for the Kangaroos, They are all around the camp and happy to come and say hello :)

I have been in Sydney for 6 months now, but had the best time so far this long weekend when I went on the Surf tour with Australian Surf tours. While driving to Bendalong I had engaging conversations …I have been in Sydney for 6 months now, but had the best time so far this long weekend when I went on the Surf tour with Australian Surf tours. While driving to Bendalong I had engaging conversations with very learnt Paul, and it felt like a road trip with great music and company of fellow travellers.
The arrangements at the camp were superb, the food served was healthy and tasty. I got to meet so many people, I haven't met in Sydney in last so many months. The camp itself is setup in such a natural environment that Kangaroos or pigeons and birds and so on would keep visiting you. I learnt slack-lining, we had camp fires by the beach side, everything was superb. Got to dive in the wave pools and feed sting rays, plenty of activities apart from surfing.
We had 5 surf sessions, at least 1.5 hours each, spread over 3 days. Tom Berridge, happened to be my tutor. Apart from being an excellent teacher, he is an entertainer! Apart from the basics of getting on the board properly, the correct form, I got so many lessons on learning about analysing waves. How are waves formed, where to paddle in, which waves to catch, how to figure out where to surf on a beach, surf etiquette, etc. Different board types, what to look into when choosing a board, when buying one, and so on. Tom spent all his time being in water with us looking at what we are doing and correcting out mistakes. I had tried surfing a few times before, but these 3 days with Tom gave me confidence to buy a board and try surfing by myself now.
To top it all, Kasia from the tour team, took a tonne of awesome pics each day. We would get together each night and have fun watching these photos. She compiled an amazing video at the end of the tour. Go-pro videos of jumping in wave pool and surfing on the waves, I love that video!
I would visit again sometime soon!
