About me:William first started his love affair with travel at the age of 11, when his father led him on a trek in Nepal. Since then his travel journal has been logged with almost 60 countries, including 30 where he professionally guides in. He’s led some 50 tours with hundreds of happy passengers and his travel advice has been featured in the Sunday Telegraph. He’s done everything from driving a rickshaw across India to hiking the Camino in Spain. He likes books, kayaking, podcasts and films and finds writing in the third person unsettling.That’s him, posing in Japan. What a dag.

Will’s enthusiasm and energy throughout the trip was contagious and kept our group excited and engaged, even on the longer travel days. The optional excursions were a lot of fun and the accommodations were better than my expectations. This was an amazing, memorable trip and I look forward to signing up for another Busabout tour soon!

Our tour guide Will was always full of energy, full of informative facts and also full of laughs, which made the two-week tour always fun and exciting. Together with our driver Gabi, every day was nonstop laughs and an itinerary that was better than I expected. Nothing was boring and questioned as to why it was included - iconic landmarks, local cuisine and city orientations - I enjoyed every day included. For a single traveller, I can highly recommend this for every kind of traveller, at any age. I l recommend you book a tour with Will as he knows everything about each of the locations and how to make everyone feel like they’re in a tour family. I definitely miss my tour group and hopefully we can all regroup again to try another of Will’s adventures!

I could only suggest to spruce up the Bulgarian and Serbian sections by looking into more culturally interesting activities as I came away with only feeling that we only scratched the surface with these countries that still remain culturally untapped.

Out of all of he group tours I’ve done, being across Busabout, Topdeck and Contiki, I can say hands down without a doubt that Will has been the best guide out of all of those I’ve had.

I was extremely surprised to find out that the tour I had been on was the first time it had ever been conducted, mostly due to the fact that Will’s knowledge of everywhere we went was exceptional and well beyond that of what I would have expected for any guide of such a tour.
Will’s positive attitude, good sense of humor and personal drive were all key attributes to a very successful and enjoyable tour. I believe he went above and beyond what was expect of any guide. A notable example of this was him always organising events, dinners and other fun activities for everywhere we went and for every night. This was a dedication to the tour participants I’ve never experienced on my previous tours.
I plan on traveling with Busabout again in the near future and hope to do so again with Will.

I was super impressed with the way he tactfully and patiently handled some challeng…Eastern Europe is one of my favourite parts of the world, and Will did a killer job guiding our group for two weeks. I was super impressed with the way he tactfully and patiently handled some challenging passengers (not me, obviously, I was super well behaved), and I appreciated his genuine enthusiasm for the places we visited. He was charming, easygoing, and efficient throughout the tour, and his bus playlist is dope. Busabout should give him a raise just based on his music selection.
My favourite parts of the trip were mostly in Romania, especially Brasov and Bucharest, but the whole itinerary was great. There’s a good balance of time on each place depending on what there is to see and do, and the two night stays are evenly spaced so I rarely felt rushed. This tour was more laidback than others I’ve done, but I felt that the pace was consistent with the style of the countries we visited: Eastern Europe time is a law unto itself.
Meals and accommodation were fine throughout. It’s totally possible to do this tour as a vegetarian or “flexible vegan” (ie, not a soapbox arsehat vegan), even though Eastern Euroland is pretty meat-centric. Will was also helpful in recommending veggo options to me, which was much appreciated. I often saw him patiently explaining or recommending meals to other passengers, so I hope they felt as well looked after as I did.
All in all, Will was ace, the tour was ace and I had a great time. Makes me super confident to travel with Busabout again in future.

This meant that at no point did the tour feel generic, and I felt that the restaurants/bars/activities that we did as a group reflected what the group as a whole was leaning towards. I also enjoyed that Will took the time to get to know each passenger, which along with our driver Gabbi, great itinerary, accomodation, and transportation made for a great tour!

He gave us great freedom yet gave great advice on what to do and wht not to do, where to go and when to go etc. He helped out with Beth’s sun burn took to a new level, he directed us away from the gay bar we accidentally went to, he taught us so much history and was generally a great guy. Someone I’d love to travel with again, in fact Beth and I are gearing up to do base camp ⛺️ with him!

The real highlight of the trip however was our guide Will. Will was extremely knowledgeable about all the areas we visited, both in a historical sense as well as restaurants/bars etc. The guy has an incredible ability to cut loose and have fun with the whole group, whilst maintaining control and directing us at the same time. Don’t know how he does it but he made our trip unfortgettable, we chose busabout again in the future based on the standard that Will set. Wills only weakness is his lack of coordination and horrible darts skills. My advice is challenge him to a game for a beer. Even if beers are $1 free drinks are awesome.

I have always been sceptical about doing organised tours instead of solo travelling however this completely changed my opinion of them and I would definelty book another with Will and busabout. Will took us to all the great bars and restaurants while also providing fun and interesting lessons in history and language while on the coach, which came in useful later! Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone as I had a fantastic couple of weeks with Will and the rest of the travellers!☺️ 12/10

Will, the guide for the whole duration was fantastic. He not only provided relevant and interesting information, but he did it in a very pleasant and fun way.
Unfortunately, things go wrong on tours. It can’t be avoided. But whenever this happened Will expertly fixed the situation quite often before us passengers were even aware there was a problem.
Also it should be mentioned that Will provided my wife and I with great advice on a few other countries to visit and went beyond what was necassary to ensure we got the most out of our travels.

Having had a little chat about my reasons for the trip, as Will gave talks about destinations and when we arrived to explore Will sought me out and let me know the back ground & where locations for good photo opps were. Good hotels, some with swimming pools, but always comfortable and clean. Tour guide Will was always happy to help.
