About me:Growing up with a Maltese family in Australia, I was always aware there were other countries to discover. The itch was always within me, and at just 22 years old I moved to Europe, where I underwent an intensive two month long job interview, covering around 25 countries, to land my dream job as a European Tour Director. From there I managed to be awarded Topdeck's Trip Leader of the Year 2016 (a career/life highlight) and was the Road Crew Trainer in 2017. While I find Europe to be a truly mesmerising place filled with cobbled paths, more history than you can poke a baguette at and fascinating legends and stories... I made an amazing decision to move my passion for guiding to Canada! I now guide with Globus/Cosmos in Western Canada, taking my group through the spectacular Rocky Mountains. I have only been to a third of the countries in the world, but this is by far my favourite corner in the world. I love witnessing my guests marvel at the rugged or snow capped mountains, ice fields, glaciers, alpine meadows, lakes, waterfalls, karst cave systems and canyons.

Even when things didn't go as planned, she remained calm and composed, turning potential setbacks into opportunities for even more memorable experiences. Her sense of humor added a wonderful touch to the journey, keeping the group's spirits high and making every moment enjoyable.

Hotels - Switzerland had the smallest bathroom ever and my husband found it hard to shower
Venice hotel was the most dirty Hotel i have ever been. There were dirty towels in the bathroom and bathroom was so dirty.
Germany hotel was misleading because our itinerary stated it was based in the city but infact the hotel was outside and totally different from the one we had initially been told
Amsterdam hotel was very standard and specially in Winter season travellers should be accomodated close to city as keeping in mind the weather can be very ***shit***ty and wet.
Food - I had specified that I only dont eat Pork and Beef but I do eat chicken fish and lamb. However, I had been given vegetarian choices and I had to ask 3 times directly to the restaurant guy if it can swapped with chicken because I was chicken was not available but infact it was and we got it.

She continuously made an effort every single day to help everyone make the most out of their trip. I was particularly impressed with how knowledgable she was, each city we went to she continued to surprise me with details, facts and fun stories . She also knew a lot of the cities back to front and could always suggest places to eat, interesting places to visit and how to make the most out of our day. She made herself available at all times if anyone needed her, no matter how tired she made sure everyone was having fun whilst being safe. She was organised, and made sure we always had the opportunity to participate in extra activities. She was super easy to warm up to and treated everyone as a friend with constant enthusiasm and passion for what she does.

Though I wasn't into the partying aspect of a group tour (I wanted to quietly see Europe), the top deck tour was great, as it was all organised for me (I just got taken from place to place), the drivers were lovely, Jody was super fun, the group was great - lovely people - so I was able to see beautiful Europe - on my own if I wanted to go off during the day in each place - but with the comfort of a nice, safe group of people around me, and without having to think about where to stay, or any logistics.
Was a very well organised trip, comfortable bus, clean and good quality backpacker/campground cabin/couple of hotels/chateau accommodation.

Her knowledge and her desire to learn is so inspiring and added so much depth to our tour. She always seems calm and has a smile on her face, and is always ready for a laugh, some terrible puns, and some big-sister life advice when asked!
Judes is awesome, the only downside being that she has set the bar so high any other tour guide I come across will never meet it.

When we became more remote in Norway, we were fortunate enough to have an incredible Chef by the name of Alisha. Her skills are world class and her food, nothing less than delicious. She always surprised us with what she had whipped up in her little cook tent.

She got amongst our jokes and games and made us laugh almost every day! I'd like to make a special mention about her passion and knowledge about World War II and Nazi Germany as we drove through Germany on our way to the concentration camp. Judes was very respectful and spoke with such passion. I had already done the concentration camp so I was i no hurry to do it again. So I sat with Judes in the canteen area and just talked. Because of this all thirty two of us became one large group instead of small groups forming on their own. Jody excelled at guiding the group throughout different cities in Europe, her expert knowledge mixed with her down to earth nature ensured that she could capture and retain the attention of the group far better than any other guide we had. She was extremely approachable and caring and I felt like I could talk to her about anything I needed to. Jody was the best tour guide we could of had and I am so happy she was our tour leader.

She made the effort to get to know people on the trip and you ever once felt like you couldn’t go to her with a question or worry. She was a lot of fun and still had the respect of our group- even when she was sick she was there with us and didn’t complain – even when she should have been resting!! She was a huge reason I would go on a trip again and her professionalism and genuine spirt is something that I’ll always remember.

I stayed in hostels, went to beautiful countries and made great friends! One of the biggest highlights of my tour was having Judes as our trip leader. She was always professional with so much knowledge of each place we went, had a lot of energy and was always engaging. However she was like an older sister, so loving and kind, always looking out for us and making sure we were okay. She pushed through sickness and put herself aside to care for us, particularly in Rome when she was unwell but still pushed thorough to host the 4 hour walking tour. When we visited Auschwitz in Poland she knew my grandfather had been kept there so she made an effort to check on me and talk to me afterwards which I really appreciated. She made the tour the amazing experience it was and without her the tour wouldn't have been as rewarding as it was. Thank you Judes!

My experience with topdeck has been a highlight of my life to date. I went on a 20 day tour not knowing what to expect. From day one we had one of the friendliest, most bubbly and humorous tour leader…My experience with topdeck has been a highlight of my life to date. I went on a 20 day tour not knowing what to expect. From day one we had one of the friendliest, most bubbly and humorous tour leaders that helped the group come together as one family. The coach over this trip ended up becoming a second home where the family could talk about their plans for the next destination.
Everywhere we stayed was always comfortable and even better that we chose our bunk mates.
Our tour guide Jody was always excited to share with everyone the abundance of historical knowledge she had for every stop on our journey, no matter how tired the passengers were from previous nights antics, we all pushed through because we never wanted to miss anything Jody had to say.
The trip made me closer to a group of people over 20 days than I have been to people over years, I now have best friends all over the world.
10/10 would recommend.

She remained constantly positive, informative and able to help out a number of people who got stuck requiring medical aid (at least 1 doctors visit arranged), emergency phone use (multiple times) or organising activities in the event of cancellations (got to love free drinks...so many free drinks)
Judes was rarely stumped for knowledge, and would go out of her way to find out facts for us in the event there was something she didn't know. Her ability to connect with people and getting people on the trip to connect with each other was outstanding. Even when the trip ended she would still be helping people find things to do in other countries or accommodation there, or just reminding us of good times and memories.
Overall she is a perfect tour guide, and sets the benchmark for all others to aspire to.

Judes was our trip leader, she was a beautiful, kind and a positive leader, that encouraged all of us to experience each country to the most.
She was always excited to take us walking through each country, teaching us about the history and showing us amazing landmarks. She always took us to her favourite places to eat and made sure we knew how to say "hello", "please" and "thankyou".
We were about 2 weeks in to our topdeck trip. When one night in Rome, I had to be taken to hospital by ambulance. I will be forever thankful towards Judes for being there every step of the way and making me feel safe and clam. She made sure I had my travel insurance and passport on me and even though neither us could speak the language she tried exceptionally hard to talk to the doctors and nurses. I was discharged the following morning and continued the topdeck trip. Every morning, she would make sure I was alright, comfortable and not in to much pain. She was truly like my mum on this trip.
Judes is one of the most incredible people I have ever met and she loves her job more than anything. I'll never forget my holiday experience with Judes from skydiving together in the Swiss Alps to a Berlin Pub crawl, she always managed to make the long bus trips fun and memorable and I will forever be grateful towards her for making my European holiday the best.

She would hang out with our tour group at night and even got the group together one night in a hotel room and we played games and had lots of laughs. Such a bubbly, outgoing guide with extensive knowledge on all the places we visited. Would definitely recommend a trip with topdeck to anyone thinking of travelling overseas. You really do become one big family!

The entire trip was excellent. Judes was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and well liked with the whole group. She played games with us on the bus to help pass the time, and gave us little facts about each country we were in. Our driver was Krysz. He too was incredible. Very friendly and knowledgeable too. He wasn't afraid to add anything to what Judes was saying.
Most of the accomadation was nice, the only problem we had was in Poland. We were put in a smoking room, my friend is an asthmatic. But the hotel was happy to give as another non-smoking room.
All together I was impressed. I enjoyed my time on this tour and would gladly do it again if I got the chance.

Scary enough she knew the answers. But her positive personality gave the tour a very light happy vibe and her jokes were qwerky. She made an effort with every single person and on first day made the effort to remember everyone by name. She was very professional but could muck around with us. I couldn't have pictured anyone better to run a tour, she was 'the very best' would do another tour with jody in a heart beat.

It was my first time travelling and I had no idea what to expect, from the minute I stepped foot into wombats hostel to meet our group, jody went around to each and every person(there was a lot) and made everyone feel welcomed and relaxed for our first day, Se explained everything in detail so we always knew what was going on, jody soon become not only the most knowledgable, patient and organised tour guide but to everyone a close friend, from the silly jokes, karaoke, games and bus shenanigans, and even though she was struggling with the top deck flu, she ALWAYS stayed positive and energetic through all the long days, walking tours and everything in between, jody made my first time traveling an unforgettable one with many memories and new friends

Every question I had she had an answer for, if she did not know an answer she would research it herself or approach external contacts who could provide an answer for us. Unfortunately Judes was unwell during the majority of the trip but she always performed well in an enthusiastic and positive manner. In situations where passengers had too much to drink she took it upon herself to look after the individuals when in reality it wasnt her problem and their mates should have been doing that job. Jody went out of her way to be a mother, nurse and agony aunt as well as performing her primary duties to an exceptional level. I will, and have recommended top deck tours to my family and friends as the experience I had was outstanding, on the grounds that I expect every tour leader to be as good as Jody.

Jude was truly the best, most energetic, caring, knowledgeable, and fun guide I could’ve ever asked for. I would highly recommend a Topdeck trip like this to anyone looking to travel through the Balkans!
