About me:Hello! I’m Kayla, a bubbly and passionate traveller from Melbourne, Australia. I now call Queensland’s East Coast home, working/living between Brisbane and Cairns as a tour guide for Stray. Not only do I get to show everyone how awesome and beautiful Australia is, but I get to meet pretty cool travellers whilst making the best memories! I’ve travelled a fair bit myself, throughout Europe, Asia, USA and Mexico, which is why I became a tour guide- I love to travel! If you’re planning on traveling to “STRAYA” make sure you jump on the Stray bus/train- hope to see you some time soon!

The entire trip was so organized and it was awesome to have a guide with us for any transportation, it made traveling stress free because the guide knew exactly where to go! When stray didn’t have a bus running from Byron Bay to Sydney on the day I planned to go, they even booked a flight for me and took care of all airport transfers. Kayla was so helpful as our tour guide—she always knew the best things to do in town and helped us book any extra activities we wanted to do, like renting cars or booking sailing trips. I was sad to leave her when a new guide picked me up! I would definitely recommend stray, they made my time in Australia great!

The people at the stay office who we emailed with were also absolutely amazing and so helpful.
However ...
We chose stray because we wanted to meet other people who were doing a similar thing to us. However we didn’t meet anyone except for 1 boy the entire trip so there was really no point in paying extra for Stray when we could have done greyhound for much cheaper. I assume summer is much busier. Also we needed to get to Brisbane in 2 weeks to make our flight and because the busses are not everyday we struggled with this so much. The timetable is the most confusing thing ever. It also meant most of our tour was unguided so again there was no point paying extra.

My favourite part was going to Great Kepple Island where we had a whole beach to ourselves and swam with turtles!
