The weather was a big factor in the downgrade from excellent. Was very cold for the first 9 days of the tour, and the holes room / camp not really equipped with adequate heating. The guide and driver were excellent, providing great service and support for the guests. The tour itself was well paced with plenty of activities. The best part of the tour : Essaouira visit. The hotel was well located, on the beach front. Rooms were good, and the improved weather conditions improved our mood. And thanks to our guide for the tour and guidance on good places to go visit.

A well balanced tour with mountains, plains and ocean. Our kids were kept active with the hike, walking, swimming and impromptu soccer! We appreciated learning about the rich history and customs while seeing modernization with irrigation and solar. We absolutely loved the people we met along the way including our wonderful tour guide, professional driver, humble homestay hosts, meek demonstration hosts, and extremely fun tour families! We learned that drinking juice and pop does help with hydration in the summer extreme heat. Toilet paper and sanitizer could be your friend but so worth the adventure! Bring tip money! One wish…a way for our family to give back to the communities we experienced (ex. schools supplies, soccer balls etc). Maybe even to visit a rural school. Overall, an amazing experience! Highly recommend!!

Children can splash in Paradise Valley's natural pools near Agadir or take donkey rides through the palm groves of Tiout. One TourRadar traveler notes: "The Sahara Desert experience was unforgettable—riding camels and stargazing in a luxury camp was magical." Cultural activities include henna workshops in Marrakech and visits to Ouarzazate's Movie Studios where blockbusters like Gladiator were filmed.

The Zalagh Kasbah & Spa in Marrakech provides family rooms and swimming pools while Dar Echchaouen Maison & Riad in Chefchaouen offers traditional décor with modern comforts. The desert camps in Merzouga come equipped with proper beds private bathrooms and family-sized tents making desert nights comfortable for all ages.
How do you handle dietary requirements for families in Morocco?

Most tours include daily breakfasts and select dinners at restaurants that understand family preferences. Places like Dar Chamaa in Ouarzazate can prepare child-friendly versions of local dishes. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The breakfasts and dinners were exceptional; each meal was a delightful blend of traditional Moroccan flavors beautifully presented."
What's the best time of year for families to visit Morocco?
The shoulder seasons of spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) offer the most pleasant temperatures for family activities. Summer brings intense heat particularly in Marrakech and the Sahara though coastal Essaouira stays temperate. Winter remains mild in most areas perfect for sightseeing but desert nights can be cold. The Family Discovery Tour suggests Agadir for year-round visits while recommending indoor activities like cooking classes during Marrakech's hot afternoons.
How do you make long travel days comfortable for children?
Tours incorporate regular breaks and points of interest along routes. The journey from Marrakech to the Sahara includes a stop in Ifrane known as the "Switzerland of Morocco" where children can observe Barbary apes. Modern air-conditioned vehicles provide comfortable seating. A TourRadar traveler confirms: "The transportation was excellent with a kind tour guide who made us feel very safe." Operators like Best Tours Morocco provide water and arrange activities to keep children engaged during longer trips.
What educational opportunities are available for children in Morocco?
Morocco serves as an open-air classroom. Children can explore Roman ruins at Volubilis learn about Islamic architecture at Casablanca's Hassan II Mosque and watch artisans work in Fes's medina. Hands-on experiences include cooking classes in Marrakech visits to argan oil cooperatives and lessons about desert life from Berber guides. One TourRadar traveler shares: "The guide taught us so much about Moroccan culture about the natives of the land and some interesting historical events."
How long are the driving times between destinations on family tours?
Most routes on family tours keep drive times between 2-4 hours. The Marrakech to Agadir route takes about 3 hours while reaching the Atlas Mountains from Marrakech requires 2 hours. A TourRadar traveler notes: "The driver made regular stops for photos breaks and interesting sites along the way which made the journeys enjoyable for the kids." Tours use comfortable air-conditioned vehicles and plan stops at family-friendly locations.
