FAQs

    • What type of accommodation is guaranteed on this tour?

The guaranteed accommodation is at backpacker hostel.

    • What is the transportation I could take from Auckland to the tour starting point?

You can take the public Skybus, its a safe, efficient and cost effective way to get to the city from the airport.

    • Me and my friend are looking to photograph New Zealand. Sometimes we would stay up through the night to photograph a location. Would this your allow us to do what we want?

If you want to stay up all night, there wont be any problem. The operator does not enforce a curfew or anything.

    • I do not like Hostels. What are other type of lodging is there for this trip?

Stray can only guarantee accommodation in a hostel or lodge that we stay at in each location, if you were wanting to stay in a hotel or similar, these would need to be booked independently by yourselves. Please note that in some locations there aren't alternative places to stay as some of our locations are unique or due to where they are there would be no other accommodation options in that place.

    • How much would you budget for basic accommodation and food through the 35 days?

Our accommodation costs are between $28 - $35 on average, For your meals, you may save money travelling with us as our drivers like to arrange group meals at a lot of our overnight locations! so everyone chips in for a great low cost meal, aside from that, we make regular supermarket stops so you don't have to eat takeaways or at restaurants etc ( We do ask our passengers not to bring Milk on the bus though!).So your food costs on your trip can be kept low if you are travelling on a budget.
