I was very pleased with the organization and execution of the Stray tour...accommodations were varied but good, cleanliness of beds and bathrooms and kitchens good, fellow travels considetate, driver very good and communicative...beyond expectations that gave an overall joyful ecperience.

What are you looking for when travelling? Friendly bus driver guides that help you sort everything you need and that actually talk TO you rather than at you? Maybe you want to get out to places you'd dreamt about but wasn't actually sure they even existed? (they do, trust me). You probably definitely want to break out of your comfort zone and randomly start to talking to a whole bunch of people from a whole bunch of countries and find your new best friend(s). Well that's what I got when I hopped on with Stray. Everything I did was through Stray, well, nearly everything, and I feel like I did everything! Thank you, Stray for being a thing! I can't imagine my NZ experience would have been half as fulfilling if I chose KiwiEx ;) I never write reviews, but I needed to this time. Sweet as, bro! Cheeeeoice!

Stray is definetly a nice way to explore NZ , if you only have a limited amount of time. I've met awesome people and had an awesome time in nz! If I had have more time, I would have rented a campervan to make more of my time. Still Stray is a good way to travel especially if you travel on your own.

I was travelling with Stray and i can say that the bus drivers are the coolest guys around (shout out to Bobby) Busses could be improved (Lacking Aircon, Small engines thus not able to get up a hill, run in with flat tires). Destinations are fabulous, favourites being Lake Aniwhenua, Gunns Camp and Blue Duck. Good prices on the activity. Hostels are mostly pretty good although I'dve preffered to not stay Base.

Stray shows you so many special places and spots without tourism! And if you want, you're never alone and the busdriver helps you with everything. It's an easy way to travel and an amazing experience. Choose it! ;)

    1.5 - Rather poor

Started off well but a clear lack of working stock meant that we spent over half the trip on small mini buses or hired in buses. This also meant that the hop on hop off part failed as buses were full well in advance and you'd be left stranded in places with no available accommodation. Final part of the trip seems utterly retarded, would make more sense to stop off in taupo rather than sit in 3 hours of Auckland rush hour traffic. The southern loop is a costly and pointless addition that doesn't even take you dunedin, the one city down there worth going to

Kia ora Alistair, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We would really appreciate the opportunity to look further into some of what you experienced regarding the buses and not being able to hop on/off. Would you mind sending an email with more details about your personal experience to catrin@straytravel.co.nz? Kind regards, Lisa

I was able to review many different tours, prices and length at one site which saved me a lot of time in researching my options of which tour to pick. The filters helped to narrow the search.
