This excellent tour is much more than a bike ride as it encompasses many of Sri Lanka’s rich cultural and historical elements, enthusiastically interpreted by your tour guide,. Dodan and his team provided top level support and made the whole tour a memorable and worthwhile life experience.

I really enjoyed the Cycle Sri Lanka tour with Intrepid - I found it to be a good balance of sightseeing, seeing local life + wildlife and exercise across mostly SW and Central Sri Lanka. We packed a lot of places into 13 days. Sri Lanka has a rich biodiversity (unexpected), cultural history and people are very friendly and welcoming - a great break away from London city life. Food is also amazing. Our guide, Dodangoda, is knowledgeable - sharing this with us in a timely manner, took into account each of our wants and ensured this was delivered against, passionate about his job, professional and did all he could to ensure we could experience the 'real' Sri Lanka in such a short period of time - he is also a food lover like me which worked out great as we sampled many of the more local eateries and snacks to the delight of the entire group. We also had a great driver in Heroshan and a good level of support from the cycle team. The cycling itself is planned out in such a way that you build up a good level of cycle fitness before the more challenging stints - challenging due to length, altitude gained and climate. I do not cycle at home but do have a good general level of fitness and did a couple of weeks preparation on a bike before the tour - I found the level of difficulty fine in the most with one or two of the days more challenging but in a good way and accomplishable. Hence, it was the perfect balance for me :) Visiting Sri Lanka primary and cycling secondary. The miss from this trip for me was seeing Ella and then some of the more eastern and less well travelled regions however it would have been difficult to fit this into the 13 days.

The trip met and exceeded our high expectations.Very organised and well-planned.Sam always planned ahead so we got the best of every opportunity. The team went the extra mile and were creative in making the trip special - ie: the way they celebrated a birthday.

The Intrepid team on the ground were exceptional and worked very well together. They were very well organised and a lot of fun. The accommodation was comfortable and maybe better than expected, the bikes were good and the itinerary allowed to see a range of landscapes and people of Sri Lanka.

Sam was an amazing tour leader; he operated his crew and the trip so that the travellers got the best experience of Sri Lanka. Sam was very thoughtful in that he created 'moments' for everyone - whether that be by giving you a lotus to offer at each temple, having an ice cream ready after a hot walking tour in the sun, or organising the riding tour so that he literally stopped traffic for us to ride through town.

The group dynamic was to cycle VERY fast and this made the trip less enjoyable for me.

I love the cycling tour, this was my first time and everyone in the group was so friendly. The staffs were so nice, helpful, promptly when in response. They made me feel so safe. The locals were friendly and the kids were cheerful. I learned a lot about Sri Lanka through seeing the scenery and interacting with the locals. It was the wonderful experience for seeing the country in 2 weeks.
