    3.5 - Good

Covering a total distance of approx 6,045 km in 24 days there are some very long drive days where you spend the entire day (up to 10 hours) driving with occasional rest stops at a Walmart. This is the main negative about this trip. Otherwise it is probably the best way to see the USA at this price with the fun Contiki offers. You see and do a lot of great things (e.g. Quebec City, Yellowstone). Even some of the not so great things you see are memorable for their lameness (e.g. Spam Museum, Corn Palace, etc.) The tour has a mix of big cities and small towns. Due to the length of the tour, having a good group and tour manager are important to your enjoyment. We had a good group and an okay tour manager. If you can handle the long drive days then this could be the tour for you. You will put on weight during this tour. Every stop is fast food...

This was a great experience and i would reccommend it to anyone who is unsure of what tour to do while in America. You get to see some great sites and visit some amazing states. You hit all the right tourist attractions with highlights being a helicopter ride over the grand canyon and landing inside for a champagne lunch, Niagara Falls, not to mention the city that never sleeps Las Vegas is a must for anyone going to America. Any questions just ask i will be happy to share my experience to others. Amanda :)

What are the travellers origin joining on this tour?

Typically, Contiki's North American tours are frequented by passengers mainly from Australia/NZ & Europe, but also Asia and Latin America. I am sure you'll fit in nicely.

So me and my friend are looking into doing the United states grand northern tour that starts on September 16th. The one that starts on august 26th is almost 1,000$ cheaper because of the "last minute deal".. should we go ahead and sign up now for September 16th or maybe wait if there's gonna be a "last minute deal" on that one as well?

The Last Minute Deals these are entirely unpredictable but also quite rare (the Tour Operator will only offer it if they are trying to fill the last few spaces on that departure).
We recommend taking advantage of the one you can see being offered now, unless there is a reason you need to wait for the later departure however we wouldn't count on the Last Minute Deal being offered on one also.
