Highly recommended tour to China for anyone who hasn't been before. Very well organised, great accommodation, food, and a private air-conditioned bus which made it very convenient, especially after a long day! We were able to see and discover so much in such a short time frame, i didn't feel like anything had been missed! The entire tour was full of amazing sights and experiences. Overall a fantastic holiday!

China! How much can you see and do in ten days? A whole lot! The whole experience was a feast for the senses. I purposely didn't do much research beforehand as I expected the english speaking local guides accompanying us to explain all. The guides spoke clearly in english and I found them to be very knowledgeable of their locale, friendly, accommodating, helpful and at times funny, creating on the occasion a more school trip atmosphere, we even had a sing-a-long :-D. A couple of guides stayed with us beyond their on separate occasions during delays of connecting transport, making sure we didn't board the wrong train/plane. We had our own air-conditioned sixteen seat minibus throughout the trip, a most welcome and at times saved us from the intense heat of the day. Notably after given two hours to the climb up and down a small but steep section of the Great Wall in 40*C heat! Luckily I had my sun hat, factor fifty sunscreen and lots of liquids. The hotel accommodation was mostly comfortable and basic. Only problem I experienced was the general weakness of WiFi signal in the rooms. Not that I was spending much time at all in my room. There was too much to explore and discover late into the night… street food; night markets; locals ‘ballroom’ dancing in a square to music from a portable music system; Live Jazz music bars. Meal times were generally pre arranged, eating in a group with several dishes appearing at the same time. Dishes ranged from average to great and there was enough variety to appeal to most of the group. Though there were a few occasions when there was a set meal and many of the dishes contained pork of which one member of our group doesn’t eat. Our exceptional guides managed to quickly remedy this quickly to a happy and tasty result. As much as was already on the itinerary daily, there were still a lot of optional activities to take up such as; Beijing zoo, where I saw my first ever panda…asleep! Evening stage shows such as Chinese Opera, very dramatic and colourful. The story of Shaolin - martial arts magic Chinese acrobats – variety performances, see it to believe it! Shopping besides the expected tourist traps of the mass malls in Shanghai or Beijing could be both educational and rewarding as in the respective production of silk and pearl products from raw materials to finished products. I even found a beautiful scarf for my mum…that she loved! In all I found my fellow group members great company and had a lot of fun with everyone. My only regret is not knowing enough useful Chinese language Potunghua, to speak to the locals. I could write a book about my China adventure but then you’ll not experience and discover it all first hand. I still can’t believe I managed to do all I did with little sleep. (A lot of coffee helped) The whole trip was a exciting buzz. A trip of a once in a life time for some. I hope to go back and experience more of China. Due to its vastness there are many more places to discover.
