I was slightly disappointed with the tour overall. The quality of the accommodation was very bad especially Nuwara Eliya. The accommodation was sub standard. Some of the tours were a waste of time with little or nothing to see. Some went to climb Adams peak where they travelled 3hours on a bumpy road to arrive to find a 5 kilometre tail back and no hope of doing the climb so had to leave. Another tour was whale watching with no whale in sight. The Ayala national Park was full of other 4 wheel drives all fighting to see little or nothing. I found it dangerous to say the least

Overall, I enjoyed my trip in Sri Lanka. It is truly a beautiful country rich in history, culture and incredible landscape. Probably one of the best places in Asia for a good mix of history, culture, wildlife, beaches and mountains. I will definitely go back to explore more of this lovely country. Most aspects of the tour were well organised. There were 3 separate trekking trips to appreciate the landscape. I'd recommend the optional activities such as kayaking and whale watching - whether dependent of course. I'd also recommend the turtle hatchery. The trip was made easy and comfortable thanks to the friendly and helpful nature of our main guide Amara and our driver Ranji. Amara is friendly, very knowledgeable and organised, and was willing to help on all matters. Ranji's safe and cautious driving meant the long journeys were comfortable. Both always had a genuine smile on their face. My only gripe has to do with the Tucan booking team. I arrived a day early in Negombo to meet the group the following day, only to be informed that I would be meeting them at the following tour destination they day after. This meant I "wasted" 2 days in Negombo on my own. Had Tucan had the courtesy to inform me that my 8 day tour was cancelled and I was joining the master 15 day tour I could have changed my arrival date accordingly and take more time off and spend on additional hotel costs. Nothing to do with the local guides and their organisation, just poor administration from the Head Office.

Hi Lokesh, many of our tours are shorter sections of longer tours and yours was the second half of our 15 day Jewels of Sri Lanka. We always do our best to enquire whether our customers are interested in travelling for longer, however, as you booked 12 days before your departure date, availability on the full trip would not have been possible to secure. We are really pleased that you had a good time and found Amara and Ranji friendly and helpful and hope that we see you on another tour again in the future!

I spent my days on this tour in constant awe of the beauty of this country. The colour of the landscape and the friendly people made me feel warm and safe. We experienced natural beauty in all it's glory from wildlife to gemstones, to lush rolling hills, to sumptuous spicy delights. We even spent some time sitting in the clouds! There is an abundance of everything in Sri Lanka. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed this tour- the tea and colonial history and legacy brought alive by our guide and the beautiful architecture that is respected and loved by proud locals. It was a lovely balance with the chance to view wildlife off the coast and on land and the colourful birdlife throughout the tour.

From being collected at the airport when I arrived through to the transfer back to the airport at end of the trip, I felt very safe and very well looked after. I was personally looked after by Shanthi who safely delivered me to the rest of my tour group the day after I arrived. The main tour guide, Amara, was exceptionally well organised and on hand whenever we needed him, always with a smile on his face. The tour itself was fantastic and the hotels used each night were great - even when they were pretty basic, they were very clean and always in great locations. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone that wanted a taste of Sri Lanka.

I did the Southern Sri Lankian trip and really enjoyed it. At the beginning of my trip my flight was delayed and I missed the meeting point but low and behold my tour guide Priya and Tucan Reservations Team had arranged a transfer so I could catch up! I was delighted to see a driver holding up my name upon arrival who drove four hours just so I didn't miss any more of my trip. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country from the lush Highlands to the scenic sandy beaches. Our tour guide Priya showed a true passion for his country and spoke at length about different aspects of his culture and country. He was keen that we tried different Sri Lankian dishes bringing us to places off the beaten track. The itinerary was busy meaning a lot of sight seeing was packed into a short amount of days. Syrian our driver was kept busy ferrying us about! World's end was spectacular the view amazing and spotting a leopard in Yala was a highlight too and not forgetting a welcone lazy day by the beach. My only regret is that I didn't Northern Sri Lanka as well but definitely now on the bucket list!

Overall the tour was great and the itinerary was excellent however I don't think the tour can be described as a 9 day tour when we were left to our own devices on the first day of the tour (no rep or leader came to meet us at all and we didn't actually meet our tour leader until 2pm on day 2) and the tour guide checked us in to our hotel early afternoon on day 8 and then left us. Overall I still had a great time though, was just disappointed with the lack of support at the start and end of the tour.
