    5.0 - Excellent

Awesome trip with a great mix of experiences. Mount Kinabalu, together with the Via Ferrata was a definite highlight and a good challenge. Views were incredible. There were some issues with the accommodation at the Jungle camp (it was quite run down) but otherwise all the accommodation was terrific (Poring Springs was beautiful). Good, high level of activity across the trip with the kayaking, hiking and cycling.

    4.5 - Excellent

Overall the trip was great. It's a really fun combination of adventure and relaxation, city and jungle. The mountain is definitely the highlight. It's INTENSE but also an amazing adventure. Make sure you drink a ton of water and maybe even take altitude medication to avoid altitude sickness. This trip also has a lot of wildlife and bugs, so bring bug spray and be prepared to hang out in the wilderness. The best part about the trip were the people and our guide, Hasif. Hasif is local to Borneo, and knows SO much about the land, vegetation, environment, bugs, etc. You name it, he knows it. He was the perfect combination of laid back but also on top of it, and we always knew what was coming next and how to be prepared. The trip is extremely well-run, and while some of the accommodation is basic, we were treated extremely well. We were lucky to have a small group of 5, which I definitely preferred rather than a larger group of 15 or 16, but that's just luck of the draw. I highly recommend doing this trip if you want to see a good amount of Borneo, get a great workout in up and down the mountain (this is also really expensive to do on your own, which makes the trip a great value), and want to experience some wildlife!
