Had the most amazing time with stray. Went to some amazing and off the beaten track places with a wide variety of activities on offer with a choice of paid or free activities. Bus was very comfortable and had a very friendly and fun atmosphere. Shorty was my driver for the whole trip and she was a very competent driver, gave loads of information on the places visited and activities and was always available for extra questions and went out her way to help and organise in any way she could. I would highly recommend travelling with stray to see the most wonderful New Zealand with no hassle

Absolutely amazing. I chose Stray to travel north and south island in 5 weeks. I couldn't have made a better choice. I had lots of driver guides - Seagull, Tia, Gollum, Lolly, Papa G, Marcanui and Skins. The only one who I had a problem with was Skins. All of the others were just fantastic. Gollum gets a special mention and so does Seagull - they both just made the trip even better. I wouldn't hesitate in using Stray again. Absolutely fantastic. Would give 6/5 if I could.

Never again. The bus was over booked and we could not enjoy our journey. We could hop off but hop on was impossible for at least 7 days. The hostels and the activitys were to expensive. The drivers were not professional and drove very dangerus...I don't recomend stray!

While we have no control over the cost for hostels and activities, we would like to follow up your comments about the drivers's performances. 3.5 - Good

I choose Stray because it was easier for me to travel the country. And I'm happy I did! It was a great way to come at the most touristic spots. Also it was a nice way to meet people and still I was able to make my own plans, by hopping of at places I want to spent more time in. Downside is that you had to arrange your initiary weeks in advance because the busses of stray are often full. They offer a list of activities you can do, but still have the freedom to do your own stuff. The accomodations are not always that nice, so I often choose another hostel to stay in.

Overall this trip was amazingly fun! As a 65 year old woman riding around New Zealand with 18-36 year olds on a bus, I was shocked at how well it worked with the group camaraderie. The bus on the other hand was a debacle. From no air con to no wifi there were quite a few hardships I had not counted on with a reputable company. Out of 4 buses I was on, one of them worked properly. That being said the driver Skins dealt graciously and professionally with everything and went out of his way to make certain everyone was cared for and we all had fun!! I cannot say the same for Bobby who complained and cussed Stray constantly. Pickles was a very docile sweet guy without much ado about anything so rather boring as a tour guide.

I travelled with stray over a 2 month period and I must say I made friends for life and saw the most spectacular sights. Out of all of the drivers I came across, I'd like to give special thanks to drivers Weeman and Lego who were the funniest and most approachable people. They were honest when giving us the activity options and I appreciated that it wasn't all for the sale of the activities. They were on time, and really great to hang around with. We always did lots of group meals which really brought everyone together. I must say that the online system to work out bus times etc was particularly bad and not very user friendly at all - so I would just ring up instead and most operators over the phone were very helpful in setting my times etc for me. Also, I travelled during the autumn/winter months when the route is a little quieter and I much preferred it as the smaller group/bus sizes meant that everyone got to know each other. The few times we did get a full coach, it was pretty full on and you lost the personal interaction with the driver and it took on a 'tourist route' vibe which i didn't enjoy as much. Overall I loved Stray - it was a fantastic way to meet people, you went to some really cool, 'off the beaten track' locations and had really unique experiences. Thank you Weeman and Lego for such an enjoyable trip!!

I spent a lot more money on activities than I expected to, but I liked that you were always given the option of a free activity. Really knowledgeable drivers, loved the smaller buses in winter and great accommodation.

I showed up in NZ with a backpack and 2 nights booked at a hostel. During my jet-lagged first days, I chose Stray as my concierge to the country and I am so glad I did! I did my research, so I knew NZ was safe for a woman traveling solo, but from the moment I walked onto the bus until I walked into the airport to fly home I never felt alone. Yes, I met many, many fellow travelers who made my trip a fantastic one, but it was Maverick, our driver/concierge, who truly made me feel at home (away from home). I am forever grateful to him for making my trip the get-away I needed it to be- he even got me to jump out of a plane! So, thank you to Stray and especially to Maverick! Whakawhetai koe

I enjoyed my trip with stray. What makes stray unique is the possibility to travel alone, yet still have the comfort of 15+ friends and a kiwi guide when needed. At times I hung out with the group and other times did my own thing. I hopped off 3 times and had 3 different guides/drivers. They were all super nice and informative and tried their best to answer my questions etc. My favourite part of the trip was the Waitimo glow worm caves. Absolutely magical!! Hop off/on was super easy. It could be done online, via phone or email and the staff always were friendly. I missed out on the Franz Josef Glacier due to bad weather but had the possibility to do it when heading back up north (max pass). Awesome trip. Thanks Stray!!

I haven't travelled yet but from what I've seen so far I'm extremely happy I have chosen to travel with TourRadar. From my very first enquiry I was impressed. I had been researching a number of companies to find the right tour for us but all the others took their time in replying and I had to ask a number of times for information. The team at TourRadar were always prompt with answering me and very forthcoming with information. The website was easy to use and I was very impressed that it had so much information. What information I couldn't find on the website was quickly given to me once I asked. Would I refer TourRadar to my friends.....I already have! Now I can't wait to travel
