The W trek and Mt. Fitz Roy were the best. I never thought that I would ever have a chance to explore that part of the world. Climbing the Vilaricca Volcano is also something that I can say that got so many admirers. From whitewater rafting to wildlife viewing, I was able to do some things that most people never have a chance of experiencing in their life.

Wouldn't recommend them for South America. Guides are not helpful, they are only there to pay for lodging and sell extra options. Trip kitty was more expensive then initially expected. Management of food and tasks we're not always handled accordingly. Driver kept to themselves most of the time, unapproachable, seemed to look down on us. Almost felt like we were intruding on driver and "guides" personal holiday. One of them came on extra activities for free and didn't contribute to tips for local guides. The itinerary was excellent. The concept is great if staff were a little more enthused and helpful or qualified. They barely spoke the local language and left us to figure our own issues out.

Questions & Answers

Here we have collected and answered the most frequently asked questions about this tour.

  • Do you arrange airport transfers?

An arrival transfer in Santiago is unfortunately not available, but Dragoman has advised us that taxis are very easy to come by from the airport. There is a taxi desk right inside the Santiago airport where they can arrange a taxi for you from there, so you don't have to hail a random car from the street.

  • What is the kitty payment?

Dragoman's Kitty for Patagonia & Tierra del Fuego between Santiago and Ushuaia (from Santiago to Ushuaia) is a group fund for this tour. The group fund pays for camping, hotels, food while camping, activities the group does as a whole (based on the itinerary mentioned above and in the brochure).

The Kitty allows the group to be flexible as the hotels and campsites are not pre booked and booked by the crew while travelling which makes the whole itinerary more adabtable than the traditional tours. Sometimes you can stay an extra night at one location due to a special activity happening at the location, based on the groups wishes. All of these costs are paid at cost price and Dragoman makes no money out of it. Therefore, if money is left over in the Kitty after the tour, it will be paid back to the group members.

Was very pleased with the ease that I was able to understand, and navigate your website. Have actually been looking at several other tour companies, some have played phone tag with me. Others have not bothered to return calls. Their websites have been difficult, to work and understand. Am super excited to be working with you. Am now working on finding affordable airfare. Thanks again. Looking forward to a wonderful adventure. Have already been giving several friends your info.
