    4.0 - Good

The description of this tour on TourRadar is outdated. Look at the GAdventures site for the latest route. I did this tour in 2018 and it is a whirlwind sightseeing tour, not a carefree backpacking vacation, so make sure you have the travel stamina to participate. The tour involves hours of bus travel almost every day, with some days involving bus-boat-bus transfers. We saw a lot, and our guide was very good, especially in dealing with border crossings, but this is not the tour for you if you are prone to bus-sickness. If you are looking for an adventure/adrenaline kind of tour I suggest doing the GAdventures Costa Rica tour; if you are looking for beach-party tour I suggest the GAdventures Mexico-Belize tour (I think it's called the Mayan Sun tour). This Volcano tour was more of a passport-stamping tour... note that the GAdventures naming convention can be confusing - the Volcano ADVENTURE tour is more expensive as it provides better accomodations, while the Volcano TRAIL tour is for more budget-minded tourists and involves more hostels. Apart from that they follow the same route.

Ive had the absolute worst experience with this company. On the third day of my 3 week tour my tour guide organized a crime where my passport and all my belongings were stollen. I was ditched alone in Honduras with no money and no documents for over a month. No compensation, no refund, just sassy attitude. When I wrote a bad review they blocked me lol

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER!!!! They screwed me so bad you wont believe. Trip was supposed to be about 3 weeks long to Guatemala, Honduras Nicaragua and Costa Rica. On the third day of the trip our tour guide says "he doesn't want to use the bus" and we should all pitch $15 for a private bus. It was an 8 hour drive and after 4 hours we stopped to eat. Out of 2 tour guides and a bus driver no one thought it was a good idea to watch the bus. My passport, all my money my camera.. etc EVERYTHING was stollen. Everyones things were on that bus!!!!!! The tour guides aunt magically appeared and drove me to police station. I was left alone in Honduras (only the murder capital of the world) for OVER A MONTH with NO MONEY!! G adventures DID NOT COMPENSATE ME and in addition they did not even return my money (even though I was robbed on the 3rd day of the trip). I was almost killed and raped multiple times and this company that claims they care so much about the world did nothing! The customer service just kept saying its not their responsibility and kept sending me stupid quotes from their contract. HOWEVER... seeing as I was there for over a month I had a lot of time. I read the entire fine print agreement. It says that G adventures is not responsible for lost of stollen articles IF IT IS NOT UNDER THE CONTROL OF G ADVENTURES. THAT BUS WAS under control of G adventures... they should have watched it!!! In addition, you want to know the funny part? Since my "incident" they changed their terms and agreement. READ IT BEFORE YOU BOOK because this company won't do anything for you! PLEASE DO. NOT. TRAVEL. WITH. THEM!! I wont sleep until everyone knows! Anyone considering travelling with them feel free to direct message me for more details!! PLEASE DO NOT PAY THEM AND GIVE THIS HORRIBLE CORPORATION THAT ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY MORE MONEY!!!! If anyone knows any popular review websites please send me links. Just want to spread the word

Didn't expect when our daughter fractured her arm on a snorkelling trip and then became very ill that the tour guide would get her to sign a release form before putting her alone and only semi conscious into a taxi in Nicaragua. They had tried to put her on a local bus for the hours journey but the driver said she was too ill for him to take. At times the driver took a unpaved road and she was terrified about what would happen especially given her weakened state. There was not even support in securing her a room in Grenada. She is still stuck in Nicaragua with us and the insurance company trying to help her and we are desperate to get her back to the UK. Her arm is now blistered and infected and as there was no medical report from the hospital doctor who did x-rays and put her arm in plaster - whilst accompanied by theTour Guide we cannot get her out before she sees yet another doctor. Iris the feckless guide did send her a message asking how she was - the answer was terrible, alone, frightened and withthe only support coming from anyone except G Adventures. This level of negligence and irresponsibility is something we will be pursuing with G Adventures forcefully.

I used G Adventures to help navigate my first solo trip to Central America....our guide Rosemary was so helpful and knowledgeable about the countries and the culture. We stayed in simple but clean and comfortable accommodations and got to take lots of local transportation, which added to the experience. I will definitely travel with G again!

Staff are available 24/7 and because there is a record of the correspondence, someone can pick upi your file and respond. All the people I dealt with had a very positive attitude. No question was too simple and their customer service was excellent.
