The itinerary was great as it was varied with plenty od activities apart from cycling. The group of peoole on the trip were second to none.

I did the ‘Cycling Cuba’ Tour and will not be using G Adventures again. The highlights: - A drunk, incoherent tour guide during one of the days. - Spending most of our time not cycling - Said tour guide locking a female member of our tour in the coach and screaming at her. I’ve many more issues and stories with this trip, but the headline is this: “proceed with caution!!”. If you have a horrendous tour guide or a sick tour guide or a drunk tour guide (or all of the above, like I had!), G Adventures will take a long time to deal with your complaint before giving you a ‘goodwill gesture’ of just 20% of your trips price. 20% of my trip was not ruined by a drunk, obnoxious guide, 100% of it was.

The scenery was beautiful. The accommodations were lacking as was the food. Having spent a week traveling independently in Cuba, we were aware of what the accommodations and food could have been at a much cheaper price. The accomadations selected do not allow you to mingle with the locals and our guide even recommended going to other restaurants because the included food was so bad. Our guide seemed put out to be on the trip and only talked about getti back to Havana to see his parents and daughter. The guide did not enjoy cycling and tried to convince us each day to reduce our mileage. He also knew nothing about fixing bikes. The was an issue because the bikes provided were not mountain bikes as detailed in the information packet. They were beach cruisers. We did learn that the government only pays him enough to pay his electric bill each month, even though G Adventures pays the Cuban Government much more than this every month for his employment. He also stressed that he relied on tips from his tours. It is common courtesy on a tour to tip, but for them to come out and ask for it seems unkosher. The bus driver was incredible and provided the only real insight into Cuban life. The people we met from around the world were incredible and greatly enhanced the experience.

I would really recommend this tour, if you are seeking an active holiday, where you get to be on the move all day long, as well as visiting the main sights along the way.

Easy to use use website. All the options can be seen on one page. What I liked most, as a solo traveller, is that I did not have to request a quote. The latter meaning that my search and organisation has to stop for 24-48hours. With TourRadar the single supplement came up instantly allowing you to make decisions on the spot and save valuable time.
