    4.5 - Excellent

This trip was excellent! The 12 day timing was perfect and the Community Trek opportunity and visit to Machu Picchu were definite the best parts! I also loved the visit to the Island of the Sun and the hike that day. I do want to share my surprise in that Intrepid's trip was entirely run by the Dragoman Company. Although this worked out fine, I had taken several previous trips with Intrepid and thought I was booking a trip with Intrepid, with the small portion of the hike and Machu Picchu led by Dragoman. Dragoman works differently in some ways; primarily the use of their truck to transport from one location to another, instead of using local transport. I wish Intrepid had been more up front about the fact that Dragoman was the company leading the entire tour. Intrepid did indicate that the Inca Trail/Machu Picchu portion was Dragoman led, but it was not clear that the entire trip would be Dragoman. Overall, it was a fabulous trip. Peru and Bolivia are fantastic countries and I'll definitely book with Intrepid again! Thank you for such a great opportunity!
