Tokyo
You'll arrive in Japan and clear customs, then head to your hotel via shared shuttle bus. After you get settled in, the afternoon is open for relaxing and getting oriented. Tour details and information about what's coming up will be provided to you once you've had a chance to rest.

Tokyo
Your first full day covers Tokyo's major attractions across five hours of guided touring. You'll see Zojoji Temple with Tokyo Tower views, walk through the famous Shibuya Crossing, check out Meiji Shrine, stroll down Omotesando Avenue, and pass the Imperial Palace and Nijubashi Bridge. Next you'll head to Akihabara, then take in panoramic views from Tokyo Skytree. The afternoon includes Asakusa and Sensoji Temple before you take the subway to Shinjuku for a guided walk and dinner at a local restaurant.

- Day 3
Tokyo - Kamakura - Enoshima - Odawara
You'll leave Tokyo for Kamakura, Japan's former capital. Start at Hokoku-ji Zen Temple to walk through the bamboo forest and have green tea, then visit Sugimoto-dera, the oldest temple here. Free time to explore Kamakura's center comes next, followed by the Great Buddha. You'll drive along the Pacific coast with lunch and time to walk on Enoshima island, then continue to Odawara to tour its medieval castle. Overnight stays in Odawara.

Odawara - Mount Fuji - Kawaguchiko
You're heading to Hakone near Mount Fuji. Visit Owakudani volcanic crater to see steam vents and sulfurous gases, then explore Oshino Hakkai village with its eight ponds and Mount Fuji views. Later you'll take a boat ride on Kawaguchiko lake before driving up Mount Fuji to the Fifth Station at 2,305 meters/7,560 feet through spectacular forests. Overnight at a traditional ryokan with hot spring baths included, plus dinner.

You'll drive scenic routes around lakes to reach Iyashi no Sato Nenba, a restored open-air museum village where traditional houses are now shops and cultural exhibits. After that, you'll see Shiraito Falls dropping 20 meters/66 feet. Then head to Nagoya to tour the Toyota Museum before continuing on to Kyoto for an overnight stay.

- Day 6
Kyoto
Kyoto fills your day as you explore Japan's former imperial capital. You'll start in Arashiyama to see Togetsukyo Bridge with scenic views, then visit Tenryuji Temple and its bamboo forest. Next comes Fushimi Inari Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and the Golden Pavilion (Kinkakuji Temple) with its gardens. Free time to wander through Gion, Kyoto's traditional district known for geishas, rounds out your day.

- Day 7
Kyoto - Nara - Osaka
You're heading to Nara to see Todaiji, a significant Buddhist temple from 752 with a giant Buddha statue inside. You'll interact with friendly deer roaming the park and take photos. Later you'll visit Horyu-ji Buddhist Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site containing the oldest wooden pagoda in the world. After lunch in Nara, you'll travel to Osaka, arriving in the evening. Stop by Dotonbori, the lively and colorful district known for vibrant nightlife, before your overnight stay.

You'll travel to Himeji to tour its massive castle complex showcasing Japanese castle architecture, then have lunch at a local restaurant. From there, continue to Okayama to visit Korakuen, one of Japan's beautiful gardens with lakes, waterfalls, and traditional teahouses. Cross a pedestrian bridge to reach Okayama Castle, a sixteenth-century fortress rebuilt in 1966. Free time to explore Okayama, an active provincial capital with over 700,000 people, before your overnight stay in the area.

Okayama - Kurashiki - Itsukushima - Hiroshima
You'll head to Kurashiki, a city with a well-preserved historic center where you can walk through charming streets. Continue to Hiroshima to visit the Peace Memorial Park, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and the Peace Memorial Museum. Then take a ferry to Itsukushima island to see the famous Itsukushima Shrine dedicated to the guardian of the seas. After exploring the shrine and picturesque town center, return to your Hiroshima hotel. Dinner is included.
