Prague

- Day 3
Prague - Lednice - Budapest
Head out early toward the Moravia region to see Lednice, a UNESCO castle with beautiful gardens. You'll cross through Slovakia and stop in Gyor for lunch and a quick walk around. From there, continue on to Budapest, arriving mid-afternoon. An evening transfer brings you to the pedestrian area where traditional restaurants and live music are happening.

Budapest

- Day 5
Budapest - Bratislava - Trencin - Krakow
Depart early and head into Slovakia to visit Bratislava on the Danube, where you'll have time to walk through the historic center and see the castle. Next stop is the medieval town of Trencin with its impressive castle perched above. After lunch, you'll travel through forests and hilly landscapes into Poland, ending up in Krakow by evening.

- Day 6
Krakow
A guided tour covers Krakow's UNESCO Old Town with its medieval streets, the massive Market Square (one of Europe's largest), and Wawel Hill where the castle stands. You'll have free time in the afternoon. If interested, there's an optional visit to Wieliczka Salt Mines, another UNESCO site with underground churches and intricate galleries carved into the salt.

Krakow - Kalwaria Zebrzydowska - Barwald Dolny - Wadowice - Auschwitz - Katowice
After breakfast, visit the Kalwaria Zebrzydowska monastery and UNESCO chapel complex. You'll stop at the wooden church in Barwald Dolny, then continue to Wadowice to see the birthplace of Pope John Paul II with its museum and baptism basilica. The tour includes Auschwitz and Birkenau concentration camps. Before finishing in Katowice, you'll pass through Nikiszowiec, a 19th-century miners' neighborhood.

- Day 8
Katowice - Opole - Wroclaw
Head to Opole for coffee in this small town known for its well-preserved old town. You'll visit the Village Museum (admission included), an open-air collection showing 19th-century rural Polish life and wooden architecture. Then travel to Wroclaw, a 10th-century city. In the afternoon, take a boat ride on the city's canals and spend time exploring on your own.

- Day 9
Wroclaw - Poznan - Torun - Gdansk
Travel to Poznan to see the impressive Market Square with its colorful Renaissance buildings. At noon, you'll see the traditional 16th-century mechanical goats perform. After lunch and some exploring, continue on to Torun, a Gothic UNESCO walled city and birthplace of Copernicus. His museum and home are available to visit. You'll arrive in Gdansk late afternoon, and the historic center is worth checking out in the evening.

- Day 10
Gdansk
Visit the European Solidarity Center to learn about the 'Solidarity' union and see the monument to fallen workers. You'll pass by the Museum of the Second World War (note it closes Mondays). Head to Sopot nearby for a seaside break, walking the long wooden pier with Baltic Sea views and grabbing lunch. Then return to Gdansk for the rest of the day to explore on your own.

- Day 11
Gdansk - Malbork - Frombork - Elblag - Warsaw
Visit Malbork Castle (admission included), one of Europe's largest medieval castles built by the Teutonic Order in the 13th century. Continue to Frombork on Poland's northeastern coast, a peaceful spot where Copernicus is buried within a walled complex. Tour the Elblag Canal Museum to learn about 19th-century engineering with boats that were historically pulled over land on rails. You'll finish the day arriving in Warsaw.
