Auckland
You'll arrive in Auckland and have the afternoon and early evening to explore the city however you like. Later on, you'll meet your Travel Director and the rest of the group for a welcome drink to kick things off.

- Day 2
Auckland to Bay of Islands
The drive north takes you to the Bay of Islands, where over 140 subtropical islets and undeveloped beaches dot the coastline. At the Treaty Grounds, a local specialist (possibly a descendant of the original signatories) walks through the history of the Treaty of Waitangi, signed here in 1840. You'll see the world's largest ceremonial war canoe and a carved meeting house on the site.

- Day 3
Bay of Islands
You've got the full day to explore the Bay of Islands on your own terms. Optional activities include a bay cruise with New Zealand wine or a mini tour of Russell, the country's first permanent European settlement. Your Travel Director can point you toward good spots and restaurants. The sunsets here are particularly nice if you're around to catch them.

Landmarks Russell - Day 4
Bay of Islands to Auckland via Whangarei
You'll head to Whangarei, New Zealand's northernmost city, where galleries and museums feature the country's natural landscape and forward-thinking culture. After walking through the Town Basin, you'll make your way back to Auckland.
