Itinerary
- Day 1
New York City
You'll arrive in New York City and get settled at your hotel, then head straight into the action. Start with a tasting tour through DUMBO, which gives you a good feel for the neighborhood's food scene. After that, you'll walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Manhattan skyline views from there are pretty hard to beat. By lunch, you're at Chelsea Market where there's plenty to choose from. The afternoon takes you up to the High Line, that elevated park that's become so popular. Later, you'll take the Staten Island Ferry past the Statue of Liberty for those classic photo opportunities. From there, swing through Wall Street and the 9/11 Memorial to see the financial district and that significant site. End your day in Times Square, where you can grab dinner and soak in all the energy and lights.

New York City to Philadelphia
A 1.5 hour coach ride gets you to Philadelphia, arriving late morning. Your guide will walk you through Independence Hall and the colonial landmarks around it, including the former homes where Betsy Ross and Benjamin Franklin lived. You'll see the Liberty Bell up close. After that, you'll wander the historic cobbled streets to get a sense of how the city felt centuries ago. Reading Terminal Market is next for lunch and browsing all the local vendors and options. Later, head to 9th Street Italian Market where you can try local specialties like Philly tomato pie and artisanal cheeses from different shops. Before you leave the city, you'll have a classic Philly cheesesteak, which is basically required when visiting.

Philadelphia to Washington DC
After a 3 hour drive, you'll arrive in Washington DC. Your guide will help you get oriented and then you'll plan out how you want to spend the afternoon since the Smithsonian Museums are free and there's a lot to choose from. The National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Air and Space Museum, and the Natural History Museum are all open to you. You can also visit the Washington Monument. Later in the evening, everyone reconvenes for dinner together, and then you'll head out on a night tour to see all the monuments lit up, which is a completely different experience from seeing them during the day.

- Day 4
Washington DC
The morning takes you to Arlington National Cemetery where you'll watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which is a solemn and meaningful experience. From there, you'll head to Mount Vernon, George Washington's historic estate, and spend time walking around the grounds and learning about his life. After Mount Vernon, you'll return to Washington DC where this East Coast explorer tour wraps up. Your guide will help arrange your transfer to the airport or wherever you're headed next.
