Auckland
You'll arrive in Auckland and have the afternoon to yourself. Walk around the harbor area and check out the different precincts at your own pace. The views are nice, especially with all the boats around. This evening you'll meet your travel companions for dinner at The Grill.

Auckland

The afternoon is yours to do what you want, with some optional activities available if you're interested.

You'll head from Auckland to Rotorua today. Later, you get a private after-hours tour of Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland with a guide who can explain all the geothermal features you'll see. This evening, you'll experience Maori culture at Te Pa Tu Maori Experience, which includes a three-course dinner with traditional Maori food.

Rotorua to Wellington
You'll leave Rotorua and head toward Wellington, making a stop at Huka Falls where you'll see massive amounts of water dropping 11 meters down. The drive takes you through Lake Taupo area, past snow-capped mountains, and through native forests. It's a pretty scenic route to New Zealand's capital.

Wellington

The afternoon is free, so you can visit Te Papa Museum, check out Zealandia ecosanctuary, explore Lord of the Rings filming locations, or just wander around. By evening, you'll find plenty of restaurants and bars throughout the city.
