Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Cologne

You'll arrive in Cologne with the rest of the day ahead before the ship departs at 5 PM. Walk through this cathedral city at your own pace, checking out the monuments and various attractions scattered throughout. If you're getting in early enough, there's time to grab lunch at a local spot and wander the streets before heading to the cruise terminal. Arriving a day early would give you a chance to settle in without feeling rushed.

    Optional Activities

    • Explore Cologne's monuments and attractions
    Landmarks/POIs
    Cologne Cathedral

  2. Day 2

    Amsterdam

The ship pulls into Amsterdam at 11 AM, leaving you nearly 10 hours to explore before departure at 9 PM. This city mixes historical sites with modern energy, and you'll find monuments around almost every corner. You can walk the canal neighborhoods, check out museums, or just wander and soak in the atmosphere. In case the ship can't dock due to local decisions, they'll run a shuttle bus to get you there instead.

    Optional Activities

    • Explore Amsterdam's historical monuments and attractions
    • Discover Dutch culture and architecture
    Landmarks/POIs
    Amsterdam Canal Ring

  3. Day 3

    Huizen

You'll arrive in Huizen early in the morning on the banks of the Gooimeer. This Dutch city has a charming old town with traditional houses and quiet cafés worth exploring on foot. The marina area and surrounding nature give you options too if you're interested in cycling, hiking, or trying water sports. It's a relaxed stop where you can move at whatever pace feels right for the day.

    Optional Activities

    • Explore the charming old town of Huizen

  4. Day 4

    Panorama Cruise - Enkhuizen

The ship leaves Huizen early, and you'll board a panorama cruise across the Markermeer and IJsselmeer with views of the historic town of Hoorn along the northern Rhine. By noon you'll reach Enkhuizen, which people often call a large open-air museum because of all the monuments within walking distance. Spend the afternoon checking out the historic center with its charming shops and buildings, everything accessible on foot.

Another early departure means another panorama cruise across the Markermeer and IJsselmeer, this time with Hoorn as your destination. You'll arrive at 11 AM with the whole day to explore this former 16th-century port that was crucial to Dutch maritime history. The historic buildings still reflect that golden age, and you'll have until 10 PM when the ship departs, so there's plenty of time to take in the atmosphere without rushing.

    Included Activities

    • Panorama Cruise Markermeer & IJsselmeer

Arriving at 10 AM in Nijmegen means you get a full day in the Netherlands' oldest city, founded by Romans about 2,000 years ago. The place has serious history layered into its streets and architecture. Walking around, you'll feel the energy from the student population, and there are city beaches along the Rhine if you want to relax and watch the water for a bit before evening comes.

  7. Day 7

    Nijmegen to Duisburg

An early 5 AM departure from Nijmegen means a long sailing day down the Rhine to Duisburg, where you'll dock at 2 PM. This former industrial city has reinvented itself into a modern scientific and tech center. You'll have until 9 PM to explore and see how the city has changed, plus get a sense of why it's one of the world's biggest inland ports with all that shipping activity happening around you.

    Optional Activities

    • Explore Duisburg's industrial heritage sites
    • Visit high-tech companies and scientific hub
    • Experience the inland port

    Cologne

The ship returns to Cologne at 6 AM and you'll disembark to end your cruise journey where it started. If you want, spend the morning walking through the cathedral city one last time before heading out. Staying an extra day or two would let you explore Cologne's monuments and attractions without the time pressure of a ship schedule.

Service on board was excellent! Waiters and room service were great. But entertainment wise was rather poor. Cruise was was advertised as German and English mostly German was used. Out of 38 minutes in German, English was use for 3 minutes?? WE had to ask for some translation.. The Cruise administration and presentation on adverting are very misleading. Premium All-Inclusive is just a misleading name and I think it is not the right name for a package!!! Even to have a reserved seats for meals we were asked for daily fee!

This review is about a 7-day river cruise, not a guided tour. The Moselle River is a scenic delight, with vineyard-covered hillsides, charming villages, castles and chateaux. Our boat was the A-Rosa Silva. About 180 passengers. All meals buffet style. We ate very well. The wines included in Premium all-inclusive were mediocre. We knew from a previous A-Rosa cruise that most passengers are German and non English speaking. We missed not having anyone to talk with other than one couple with whom we sometimes shared a table at meal times. The boat did not have very effective AC. The dining room could get pretty uncomfortable. We sometimes took our plates up on deck, and that was lovely. We learned to keep our cabin shades down and curtains closed during the day when we were on the sunny side.
