Itinerary
- Day 1
Islamabad to Taxila
Start your day heading out from Islamabad toward Taxila, which sits about an hour away. Once you arrive, the Taxila Museum becomes your first stop where you'll see Gandharan sculptures, coins, and pottery spanning from the 2nd century BCE through the 5th century CE. After that, you'll walk through the archaeological sites themselves, beginning with Jaulian Monastery to check out its stupas, then moving on to Sirkap where the ancient residential areas and temples give you a real sense of how people lived centuries ago. The day wraps up at Dharmarajika Stupa, which dates back to the 2nd century BCE, and you'll head back to Islamabad by evening.

- Day 2
Islamabad to Peshawar
You'll leave Islamabad early in the morning for the scenic drive to Takht-i-Bahi Buddhist Monastery located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa hills. This UNESCO World Heritage site from the 1st century CE has well-preserved stupas and monastic cells that you'll explore throughout the day, plus there's a museum with artifacts on the grounds. By afternoon you'll continue on to Peshawar, check into your hotel, and settle in after a full day of cultural exploration.

Peshawar
After breakfast at your hotel, head to the Peshawar Museum to see Gandharan sculptures, coins, and manuscripts from the Buddhist Gandhara period. Then walk through Qissa Khwani Bazaar, a historic market where storytellers and tea houses fill the streets with activity and energy. Grab lunch at a traditional Pakistani restaurant, and in the afternoon make your way to Bala Hisar Fort where you'll get panoramic views of the city and learn about its historical significance. Later you'll begin your journey back to Islamabad.
