Your New Year's cruise kicks off in Cologne as you settle into your cabin aboard the ship. After getting comfortable in your floating luxury hotel, you'll attend a Welcome Cocktail reception and sit down for a special Welcome Dinner while the ship departs toward Rüdesheim.

Mainz
The ship pulls into Mainz in the morning, a charming Rhine town filled with cultural attractions. You'll have time to explore on your own or visit the Gutenberg Museum if you're interested. Later in the day, there's an optional stop at a local bakery if you want to try some regional pastries. The ship heads out again in the evening.

Strasbourg
Around lunchtime you'll arrive in Strasbourg in the Alsace region of France. The old town here has plenty to see as you wander through the streets. If you want more structure, there's an optional tour by bus that covers the city more thoroughly. Later in the evening the ship continues downriver toward Switzerland.

Basel
On Old Year's Day the ship reaches Basel, Switzerland in the morning. You can join an optional city tour to see the highlights or explore on your own. That evening, everyone gathers for an elegant New Year's Dinner on board, complete with champagne toasts right at midnight to ring in the new year.

Basel to Rhine
After celebrating last night, New Year's Day is all about relaxation. The ship departs Basel in the morning and heads downriver. Spend the day recovering, enjoying the ship's restaurants and bars, or sitting in the AMADEUS Club while taking in the river views as you cruise along.

Mannheim - Heidelberg
Morning brings you to medieval Speyer, where a guided walking tour gives you the lay of the land. By early afternoon the ship reaches Mannheim. After lunch, you can take an optional trip to nearby Heidelberg if the castle and historic old town appeal to you. The ship departs Mannheim late that evening.

Koblenz
You arrive in Rüdesheim at breakfast time and participate in a morning sightseeing walk to get oriented. From there the ship passes the dramatic Lorelei Rock and pulls into Koblenz around lunchtime. In the afternoon, join a guided walking tour through the beautiful old town. That evening, the captain hosts an elegant Gala Dinner as the ship continues sailing toward Cologne.
