Itinerary
- Day 1
Luxor
Your Saturday starts with arrival in Luxor. You'll get transferred from the airport or hotel directly to the pier, arriving in time for the noon embarkation on your Nile cruise. Once you're settled on board, head out to see the temples of Karnak. Back on the ship later, there's a cocktail reception followed by dinner, so you can meet other travelers and get comfortable with your floating home for the coming days.

- Day 2
Luxor to Esna
Begin by walking through Luxor's west bank, starting with the Valley of the Kings where you'll see royal tombs carved into the hillside. From there, head to Deir El Madina to check out the ancient workers' settlement, then continue to Madinet-Habu temple with its well-preserved reliefs. Before boarding your cruise ship, stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues standing alone in the desert. Later, you'll head south on the Nile toward Esna, passing through the lock system that manages water levels between sections of the river.

- Day 3
Esna to Kom Ombo
Spend the morning cruising south from Esna to Edfu. When you arrive, walk through the Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt with its massive pylon gates and detailed carvings still visible. After lunch, continue sailing to Kom Ombo where you'll explore temples dedicated to Sobek and other gods. The evening finds you settled back on the ship as it anchors for the night.

- Day 4
Kom Ombo to Aswan
The cruise continues south toward Aswan (70°F/21°C). This morning, visit the Aswan Dam, a modern engineering feat controlling the Nile's flow. In the afternoon, head to the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis, which was relocated to save it from flooding decades ago. Later, take a motorboat out to explore the Nubian Museum where you'll learn about the history and culture of Nubia and its connection to ancient Egypt.

Aswan
You'll disembark at 8 am and transfer to your hotel or head to the airport in Luxor, wrapping up your Nile river experience. The morning departure gives you time to settle in or catch your flight home after several days of traveling through Egypt's most important historical sites.
