Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Tromsø
You'll land in Tromsø and take the public airport bus into the city. This place sits on an island way up in northern Norway, connected by bridges, so it has that remote island feel right away. After you settle into your hotel for the next four nights, you'll have time to get oriented before evening.

Tromsø
Today's yours to explore Tromsø however you like. There are museums to check out, or you could take the Fjellheisen cable car up the mountain for views across the fjord. The Ice Sea Cathedral is pretty striking if you want to see that. If it's whale season (November through January), there's a whale safari option where you'll get out on the water to spot marine mammals and Arctic wildlife.

- Day 3
Northern Lights Safari
Morning offers a speedboat option over to Finnsnes where you can see the mountains and fjord landscape up close. After that, in the afternoon you'll head from Tromsø toward the Finnish border with guides who know where to find the best Northern Lights viewing away from city glow. You'll grab a snack along the way, then head back to Tromsø somewhere between midnight and 2 am.

Landmarks Finnsnes - Day 4
Tromsø
Another day to do your own thing in Tromsø. The Polar Museum covers the history of polar explorers if that interests you. Or you could book one of the available excursions like a snowmobile safari through Tamok Valley. If your tour starts December 15th or later, the Sami Experience is worth considering, where you visit a Sami camp, learn about the indigenous culture, have a campfire snack in a Lavoo tent, and can take an optional reindeer sleigh ride with chances to see Northern Lights.

Departure from Tromsø
You'll take the public airport bus from the city back to Tromsø Airport for your departure. Depending on your flight time, you might have a bit of morning left in the city, or you'll head straight to the airport.
