You'll arrive in Kuala Lumpur and get settled at your hotel. After that, the day is completely open for you to do whatever appeals to you. If you're interested in shopping, Bukit Bintang has several large malls worth checking out, or you can simply relax and get your bearings in the city.

- Day 2
Kuala Lumpur to Malacca
After breakfast, you'll head toward Malacca and start exploring this UNESCO World Heritage city. The morning takes you through St. Peter's Church (Malaysia's oldest Christian church), the Portuguese fortress Porta de Santiago, and St. Paul's Church ruins. You'll also see the historic Stadthuys and Cheng Hoon Teng Temple before grabbing lunch at a local spot. Later, a 40-minute boat trip on the Malacca River shows you historic buildings and fishing villages from the water. Plenty to see in one day.

- Day 3
Malacca to Kuala Lumpur
You'll drive back to Kuala Lumpur this morning and begin a city tour with photo stops at the Petronas Twin Towers and Sky Bridge, plus the National Mosque and Royal Palace. The itinerary includes the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Cricket Club before checking into your hotel. That evening, you'll head into Chinatown to browse the night markets, pick up souvenirs, and visit the Sri Mariamman Temple with its fragrant incense. Wrap up with dinner at a local Malaysian restaurant.

Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Selangor
The morning is free, so you can do whatever you'd like around the hotel or city. In the afternoon, you'll drive to Kuala Selangor to see rural Malaysia with its fishing villages, palm trees, and rubber plantations. Dinner happens at a Chinese fishing village, then you'll take an evening boat trip to watch glowworms light up the mangrove banks before heading back to the hotel.

Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highlands
You'll head north toward Cameron Highlands this morning. Just outside Kuala Lumpur, stop at Batu Caves to climb 272 steps up to the Hindu temple. Continue north with a stop at Lata Iskandar waterfall. You'll arrive in Cameron Highlands in the afternoon, where the cooler climate and 1,540-meter elevation offer a nice break from the heat below.

Cameron Highlands

Penang
This day explores historic Georgetown. You'll see the reclining Buddha statue at Wat Chayamangkalaram temple and visit the ornate Burmese Dhammikarama temple (built in 1803, the first Buddhist temple on Penang). Walk through the 'Street of Harmony' where a church, Chinese temple, Hindu temple, and mosque stand peacefully together. Check out the beautiful wood carvings at Khoo Kongsi, make a brief visit to Fort Cornwallis, then have lunch at a local restaurant at your own cost. The afternoon is yours to do as you please.

Kuching
After breakfast, you'll drive inland to Semenggok Nature Reserve, a conservation park where you can watch orangutans being fed up close. You'll then learn about jungle plants and medicinal herbs at the Borneo Diversity Center. Later, visit a traditional stilted longhouse of the indigenous Bidayuh families to learn how they live. Lunch happens at the longhouse, and you'll head back to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Kuching to Bako National Park

Your guide can help you pick from several hiking trails depending on your fitness level and interests.

A local guide shows you around, you'll taste local specialties, watch rice wine production, and learn the traditional way of making fire.

Kota Kinabalu to Poring Hot Springs
You'll head to Poring Hot Springs, famous for its thermal springs and the Canopy Walk, a suspension bridge and platform system high in the rainforest canopy. You'll experience the jungle from about 30 to 40 meters up. After lunch at a local restaurant, you can take a dip in the hot springs if there's time. Then you'll transfer to simple accommodation outside the park for the night.
