Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Zürich/Basel to Breisach

    You'll fly into either Zürich or Basel and make your way to the ship by 5 pm. Once aboard, settle into your cabin, have dinner, and take some time to walk around and get familiar with the vessel. The ship sets sail for Breisach that evening, so you'll fall asleep as you're already cruising along the Rhine.

  2. Day 2

    Breisach

    This morning you can pick from a few different options. Either join the full-day Black Forest tour to see traditional culture and the Vogtsbauernhof open-air museum, or head to Freiburg's medieval city center on your own. If you prefer, there's also a morning visit available to the charming village of Colmar. Later in the day, you'll attend a beer lecture from your Beer Expert while the ship cruises toward Strasbourg.

    Strasbourg

    A guided city tour takes you through Strasbourg's Gothic cathedral, where you'll see ancient murals and the astronomical clock. You'll also walk through the La Petite France District. If you want to do more, you can optionally visit the historic Maginot Line or tour Alsace wine country. Otherwise, there's free time to check out museums and wander the city center at your own pace.

    Boppard

    Start your morning choosing between a hike through vineyard-covered hills, a tour of the Mechanical Music Museum, or a cable car ride up to the Niederwald Monument. Whichever you pick, you'll also get to taste authentic Rüdesheimer coffee. After that, head to the Sky Deck and relax as the ship sails through the Rhine Gorge. You'll arrive in Boppard with time to walk along the Rheinallee Promenade or sample local food and wine.

    You have two main options for the day. Either take a guided brewery tour to experience Frankfurt's craft beers, or join a guided sightseeing tour of the city's cultural landmarks and neighborhoods. Come evening, your Beer Expert hosts another beer lecture. After dinner, live entertainment happens onboard as the ship heads toward Wertheim.

    Würzburg

If you're interested, you can take an optional excursion to the fairytale Bavarian town of Rothenburg. Back on the ship, there's live entertainment before you sail to Bamberg.

    We would like to thank our Statesman Attendee that took care of all our needs in our room 107. He was friendly and did an amazing job, Marisio our waiter served us with the highest respect and friendliness. Over all Avalon have very good staff and always a smile- nothing too much trouble. The ship was so clean, food was spectacular. We had a surprise group of singers Gwen and Charles who brought great entertainment. The other entertainer was amazing. Loved the top deck BBQ. We met lots of new friends aboard. Thank you Avalon for a trip well executed.

    ship was excellent, food and drinks were great, adventures perfectly organized,all crew members were extremely friendly and helpful. One person was outstanding and needs to be mentioned: our cruise director GAYLE. She was just outstanding and the best we ever experienced.

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 95 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
