You'll arrive in Munich and meet your tour leader along with the other travelers. That evening, there's a welcome dinner to get everyone together and start things off.

Regensburg - Weltenburg - Bamberg
Start with breakfast, then head to Regensburg on the Danube River. You'll have time to walk across the 12th-century Stone Bridge and check out the Gothic Cathedral at your own pace before grabbing lunch. After that, visit Weltenburg Abbey for a guided tour of the world's oldest monastic brewery where you can taste their award-winning beers. The evening is free once you arrive in Bamberg.

Bamberg
Join a walking tour with a local guide through Bamberg's Cathedral Square and Old Town Hall, learning about the city's history. Afterward, the afternoon is yours to explore. Altenburg Castle, dating back to 1109, comes highly recommended if you want to check it out. Your evening is free to try Bavarian cuisine at a local restaurant or just relax at the hotel.

- Day 4
Bamberg - Würzburg - Rothenburg
Leave Bamberg and travel to Würzburg for an orientation tour of the Old Town with your tour leader. Then you'll explore the Würzburg Residence, which showcases some really impressive baroque architecture with ornate rooms and grand halls. Grab lunch on your own, and from there continue along the Romantic Road to Rothenburg where a group dinner is included.

Rothenburg
Take a walking tour of the medieval town Rothenburg with your tour leader, seeing charming houses and cobbled streets. The rest of the day is yours to spend however you like. You can walk along the 14th-century town walls, catch the town clock chiming in Markplatz, climb the tower for views over the countryside, and try local pastries, meats, and beer.

Rothenburg - Heidelberg - Baden-Baden
Head to Heidelberg, Germany's oldest and most famous university town. Explore the red-sandstone ruins of Heidelberg Castle and its grounds on your own time. During lunch, find a cafe in Marktplatz where you can sit and take in the Gothic Heiliggeistkirche church towers. After that, continue to the spa town of Baden-Baden with your evening free to enjoy local food or rest at the hotel.

Baden-Baden - Schonach - Freiburg
Leave Baden-Baden and head into the Central Black Forest. Stop in the quaint village of Schonach to see a traditional cuckoo clock manufacturer at work. Wind through the forest and look for one of the many waterfalls along the way. You'll arrive in Freiburg in the evening with time to wander the cobblestone streets lined with water-filled runnels at your leisure.

Freiburg
Start the day with a tour of Freiburg's farmer's market at Münsterplatz, sampling regional specialties like cheese, bread, sweets, and wines from local producers. The afternoon is all yours to do what you want, whether that's checking out museums and galleries in the city center or relaxing in Rathausplatz. For dinner, find a spot in the medieval Altstadt and try the famous Black Forest gateau.

Travel to Friedrichshafen and visit the Zeppelin Museum, then have free time to walk the lakeside promenade and grab lunch wherever you like. Continue to Lindau for a photo stop with views over the Bodensee (75°F/24°C on a typical day). Your day ends with a farewell dinner.

Ammergau Alps - Neuschwanstein - Munich
Visit the imposing Neuschwanstein Castle, known as the 'castle of the fairytale king,' which sits dramatically above Hohenschwangau. Wander through the 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace at your own pace. Then make your way back to Munich where the tour ends and you'll say goodbye.
