Itinerary
- Day 1
Johannesburg to Mpumalanga
You'll leave Johannesburg early in the morning and head toward Mpumalanga Province. Along the drive, there's time to stop at the Panorama Route where you'll see God's Window, the Three Rondavels, and Blyde River Canyon. The landscape here shifts dramatically with each viewpoint. By late afternoon, you'll arrive at a lodge positioned near Kruger National Park for the night.

- Day 2
Kruger National Park
This is a full-day safari through Kruger National Park in an open vehicle. You're looking for the Big Five and the thousands of other animals spread across the park's 16 different ecosystems. The drives typically start early and continue through midday, then again in the late afternoon. By sunset, you'll head back to the lodge for an open-air dinner under the stars.

- Day 3
Kruger National Park
Start with a guided walking safari in Kruger, which gives a different perspective on the landscape and wildlife. After that, you'll board a safari truck for another game drive through the park. If you're interested, there's an optional nocturnal game drive in the evening to see animals active at night, which is really a different experience from daytime viewing.

Landmarks Kruger National Park - Day 4
eSwatini (Swaziland)
You'll travel to eSwatini and spend the day hiking through Malolotja Nature Reserve on foot. The terrain shifts between grassland, scrubland, and forest sections, and the panoramic views open up at various points along the trails. Later, you'll return to camp to relax by a campfire and reflect on the day.

eSwatini to Zululand
This morning starts at an arts and crafts market near Mbabane where you can see local crafts and traditional medicine. Then you'll travel back across the border into South Africa and check into Zululand Lodge in the private Msinene Game Reserve. A local guide will take you on foot to explore the landscape and river, where you might spot nyala antelopes and birds. You'll also visit nearby Hluhluwe Game Reserve to see rhinos.

Drakensberg Mountains
You'll depart Zululand and travel inland toward the Drakensberg Mountains. There's a stop at the site where Nelson Mandela was arrested in 1962, which now has a memorial and visitor center. From there, you continue into the southern Drakensberg region where you'll have time for hiking and taking in the mountain views (60-70°F/15-21°C typically).

- Days 9 - 10
Wild Coast
The drive takes you to the Wild Coast of the Eastern Cape, where you'll find pristine bays bordered by rugged cliffs, green hills, and sandy beaches. You have a free day to set your own pace. That means meeting locals, relaxing on the beach, or wandering around the area however you like.

Landmarks Wild Coast - Day 11
Addo Elephant National Park
You'll do a safari in Addo Elephant National Park, where there are over 600 elephants. Along with guides, you'll learn about the park's history and conservation efforts. Keep watch for white rhinos, Cape buffalo, lions, leopards, and the hundreds of bird species that live in this protected area.

- Days 12 - 13
Garden Route and Plettenberg Bay
You'll travel along the Garden Route to Plettenberg Bay on the Indian Ocean. At Tsitsikamma National Park, there's a hike along rocky coastal paths at the mouth of Storms River. In the afternoon, you have the option for a boat trip followed by hiking through Robberg Nature Reserve. Later, you can grab fresh seafood at local restaurants in the area.

- Day 14
Hermanus
You'll head to Hermanus, known as the whale capital of the world. If it's whale season (June through November), you can walk along the coastline spotting migrating whales. During summer months, Fernkloof Nature Reserve is the main stop, where fynbos vegetation creates beautiful coastal views.

- Days 15 - 16
Stellenbosch and Cape Town
Start in the Stellenbosch wine region where there are optional wine tasting and cellar tours. From there, continue to Cape Town and explore the V&A Waterfront. On the following portion, you'll climb Table Mountain for views over Table Bay and Robben Island, then drive out to Cape of Good Hope for the viewpoint. The scenic Chapman's Peak Drive leads to Simon's Town and Boulders Beach where African penguins gather.

- Day 17
Cape Town
You can climb Table Mountain on foot or take the cable car for views over Table Bay and Robben Island (weather permitting at 65-75°F/18-24°C). You'll have a free afternoon to take photos at the Waterfront or stroll through Greenmarket Square and local shops. The tour ends in the late afternoon at your hotel.
