  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Ulaanbaatar

    You'll land at Chinggis Khaan International Airport and get transferred to your hotel in Ulaanbaatar. The afternoon is yours to rest and shake off the flight. Later, your guide will give you a tour briefing, then you'll have a welcome dinner to kick things off.

  2. Day 2

    Ulaanbaatar City Tour & Naadam Eve

    Start with breakfast, then head out on a guided tour of Ulaanbaatar hitting Gandan Monastery and the National History Museum. By afternoon, you'll catch the National Costume Festival in Sukhbaatar Square as Naadam prepares to start. Dinner at a fine restaurant wraps up the evening before you head back to your hotel.

    Naadam Festival Opening Ceremony

    Naadam Festival officially kicks off today. You'll go to the National Stadium for the opening ceremony with crowds of locals and visitors. Expect the Mongolian President's speech plus performances from dancers, athletes, horse riders, and musicians. Watch wrestling and archery, try the ankle-bone shooting games, and soak in the local energy. A folklore concert and gala dinner finish the day before returning to your hotel.

  4. Day 4

    National Horse Race & Khustai National Park

    Drive an hour outside Ulaanbaatar to watch the national horse race featuring young jockeys (5-12 years old) racing over 20 kilometers with more than 300 horses. You'll have a boxed lunch at the finish line. From there, head to Khustai National Park to see the famous Przewalski wild horses that were brought back to the wild, along with other wildlife and plants. Overnight stays at a ger camp.

    Lake Ugii

    You'll drive toward Lake Ugii with stops along the way for photos of the landscape and wildlife. Once you arrive at the Lake Ugii camping site, get settled in. That evening, go hiking around the lake and watch birds. Have dinner and stay overnight at the camp.

    Tsenher Hot Spa

    Karakorum Ancient Capital

    Explore Karakorum in the Orkhon Valley, where Chinggis Khaan built his empire's center. You'll check out Erdenezuu Monastery, the Karakorum Museum, Phallic Rock, and Turtle Rock. Learn about the Orkhon Valley's significance as a hub for nomadic dynasties. Sleep at a ger camp.

    Ongyn Khiid Monastery Ruins

    Rise early and drive south from central Mongolia toward the Gobi heading to Ongyn Khiid. Situated by the Ongi River, you'll explore two monastery ruins, Barlim Khiid to the north and Khutagt Khiid to the south, which make up the Ongyn Khiid complex. An afternoon hike through the ruins follows. Overnight at a ger camp.

    Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs

    Get an early start toward Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs in the Gobi to see colorful layered landscape where the first fossilized dinosaur eggs were found. You'll learn about Roy Chapman Andrews' dinosaur work from over a century ago. These flat-topped cliffs display bright colored formations carved by rain and wind. Stay overnight at a ger camp.

  10. Day 10

    Khongoryn Els Sand Dunes

    After breakfast, drive 180 kilometers to Khongoryn Els and check into the ger camp. Following lunch, visit a camel breeding family to learn about nomadic Mongolian life. Then explore Khongoryn Els, Mongolia's largest sand dune known as the 'Singing Dunes.' If you're up for it, climb to the top for views across the landscape. Return to camp for the night.

  12. Day 12

    Tsagaan Suvraga White Limestone Cliffs

  13. Day 13

    Baga Gazriin Chuluu Rock Formation

    After breakfast, drive deeper into Middle Gobi to Baga Gazriin Chuluu, a rocky range full of canyons, caves, and a solitary lake. With minimal light pollution out here, you'll see millions of stars at night. Stay overnight at a ger camp.

    Return to Ulaanbaatar

    Have breakfast, then check out from your hotel and get transferred to the railway station or airport for your flight home.
