    5.0 - Excellent

I thought you had already received my review! (The final page mentioned a 5% discount.) I am re-sending my comments as the tour, and guide, exceeded our expectations. I will certainly consider traveling with gadventures again. Kozo, our guide, was very helpful in arranging public and private transport for the day we left the group to travel to Naoshima Art Island. We liked the idea of travelers having some unstructured time as well as the organised itinerary and this is one reason why we chose 'Backroads of Japan'.

    3.5 - Good

Our guide made the tour wonderful for us. He was knowledgeable, helpful, considerate and always at our disposal. We had a lot of travel by train, some days it felt like the whole day was spent getting from A to B, but at least the trains were comfortable and our guide manouvered us through the rail system with ease - sometimes three consecutive trains in one day. We saw all that was promised in the itinerary - temples, castle, museums, folk village, zen gardens, snow monkey park etc. My only negative comment would be that there was not enough free time for shopping, didn't come home with many souvenirs. Overall we enjoyed the experience.

Hi there it was such an amazing experience, so well organised, fun, good food, and our guide Kozo really looked after the group. A great balance of different activities for all ages and found train travel very easy even with the volume of people getting on and off. Japan is a must visit destination. I am 67 years old and it did not matter, lots of young people in our group and we all got on so well. I will book again.

Great tour that covers both urban and rural Japan. The Japanese scenary is spectacular. Our guide was super organised and really lovely, adapting plans to suit our preferences and sharing in our excitements. She also took us to an amazing range of delicious local food, local to each region not just to Japan. I never regretted taking her ordering suggestions.
