Many years ago, in a time before smartphones, Instagram and Game of Thrones, an Irish tour company was born in the city of Dublin. We were small, but our dreams were mighty! The world has evolved mahoosively since then, but we’ve stuck to our roots. We’re ridiculously proud of our home, and we love showing it off. Authentic, local experiences are what we do best; whether you’re standing on a cliff top, or being spun around the pub dancefloor; we’ll probably do the spinning! These are the things that will never change. Shamrocker Adventures - taking budget travellers on epic tours of Ireland since 1999. Ireland has that special something you can’t quite put your finger on. It’s in our stories and songs, our coastline and countryside. It can be felt in the traditional pubs, and heard in the sexiest of accents. Oh, and don’t forget the famous Irish charm. We supply all of the above – and then some. There’s nowhere like Ireland, and we’re here to prove it.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are there any luggage restrictions?
Shamrocker Adventures allows each passenger to have one main piece of baggage with the total weight being no more than 44lbs/20kgs. You will find that the majority of tours have a 20kg luggage limit per person, as this provides luggage room on the transport for all travellers in the group. In addition, you can bring one daypack onboard the transport but you must be able to carry this around with you.
- What should I budget for an average day?
We recommend allowing €15 - €30 per day. You can’t come to Ireland without visiting the pub for a proper pint at the end of a hard day’s exploring. A pint of Guinness costs around €5.50, and an Irish whiskey would be about €6.
- How much time do we spend off the bus each day?
Loads! Shamrocker Adventures plans to get you out and about, stretch your legs and breathe in the sweet Irish air and actually experience the country you’re in. Embark on walks, explore old ruins and ancient sites, recount local myths, or listen to a few tales about Ireland’s rich history.
- Do you arrange airport transfers?
There are no airport transfers included in this tour, therefore you will need to make their own way to the starting point. All Shamrocker Adventures tour starting points are centrally located and have good public transport links so there should be no trouble getting there!
- I'm a solo traveller, is there a single supplement?
Unfortunately, a single supplement is not available for this tour, so if you are a solo traveller, you will be roomed in dorm-share accommodation with your fellow travellers.
- When and where does the tour end?
This tour concludes with your arrival to Shamrocker Adventures at approximately 5:30 pm in Dublin (Four Courts Hostel, 15-17 Merchants Quay, Merchants Quay, Dublin, D08 V4Y7, Ireland). After 5 amazing days, it's time to say goodbye to your new friends and continue your travels! Please be aware that the drop-off point is subject to change until your final documents are released.
- When and where does the tour start?
This tour starts with a check-in at 8:15 am and departure at 8:30 am from Shamrocker Adventures in Dublin (Four Courts Hostel, 15-17 Merchants Quay, Merchants Quay, Dublin, D08 V4Y7, Ireland). Due to the early start, we recommend arriving one or two days prior to the tour to settle in and make sure you don't miss the bus. You are now ready to begin your adventure by making your way to the magical Hill of Tara, the ancient capital and once the seat of the High Kings of Ireland! Please be aware that the meeting point is subject to change until your final documents are released.
- What are the optional excursions?
The optional excursions for this tour are:
Blarney Castle. Price: Adult from $21.00
Tullamore Dew Whiskey Distillery Museum. Price: Adult from $17.00
Please note that this list is a guideline only and all prices are subject to change. You can purchase these excursions on the 'Book Now' page. - Can you assist with booking additional accommodation?
Unfortunately, the tour operator does not reserve pre- and post-tour accommodation, however, you are more than welcome to book additional accommodation directly with the hostel yourself.
- What is the age range?
Unfortunately, Shamrocker Adventures are unable to carry children under 5 years old and anyone under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. There is no maximum age restriction, so if you are young-at-heart or have a sense of adventure, then Shamrocker Adventures would love to have you!
